Do you maintain any level of anonymity through the email negotiations? Nothing like getting 10 years worth of emails and phone calls from the dealership after not transacting. Even dealerships where I may have taken a car for recalls still pester me years later.

Is it worth trying to buy before 12/31? Are dealers really that desperate that I could do much better than the online discounted price?

How do I get the best price without having to dink around with the dealer's financing? I'd probably just get pre-approved from the credit union.

We have the low end Whirlpool which washes fine and is used almost daily for 7 years with no probs, but it's noisy as all get out.

Sounds like you are wanting to buy to avoid paying more in a year. If you're socking away a lot of cash by renting, youre on the right track. So what if the price goes up in a year...put more money down and you'll pay less interest in the long run. If interest rate goes up, price will likely go down...

Yes a roth IRA with fidelity options is available, but I think that's going with a target date fund (likely Freedom Index 2025).
