I've been happy with my calls/text only Virgin Mobile flip-phone; you just have to add $20.00 every three months, and it does carry over. If it builds up too much money, I just make a text donation to the Salvation Army with my overage...beauty!

I wouldn't take investment advice from either. I believe everything that Dave Ramsey says about debt. It magnifies both risk and return and is too dangerous for most people. Isn't the point in retirement to supplement your SS with earnings from your portfolio with a yearly income that provides a comfortable living while maintaining a safe withdrawal rate?

If you can do that with say, 10% equity and 90% bonds, why put more principal at risk with higher equity percentages?

I just roll my bond fund earnings into my Vanguard MM fund all year, take a distribution when I need to, what I don't use I plow back into the bond funds.

Supplemented with my SS payments, it has provided more than enough so far...

I re-balance my small equity percentage yearly if need be.

Flying is not my favorite way to spend time; even if it's less than driving. I even drive home to see relatives 1200 miles away (about 22 hours driving time); it's always an adventure, and with no flying/baggage/delay/layover hassles...

I would give "Avatar" three stars out of five for the story line (the "Messiah" theme is well-worn in movies), and five stars for the visuals.

The only movie I have ever seen which impressed me more with its visuals was seeing "2001-A Space Odyssey" in Cinerama.

I'd never watch "Avatar" twice...
