I believe I work the same company as original poster. I called Fidelity last Friday and was told each ETF trade will charge commission (around $7.95). It is more likely that we will be treated as individual investor, and we could not access to some mutual fund which is closed to new investor, or go through hassles (i.e Vanguard PrimeCap).

non-cash contrubution to traditional IRA?
I would like to contribute $5000 to the non-deductible traditional IRA for 2009 with the eye to convert to Roth IRA next month.
Vanguard allows me to use GNMA mutual fund I have to make contribution, but wellsTrade only permit cash contribution. Wells Fargo claim this is law to allow only cash instead of mutual fund/ETF/stocks to make contribution. Is this true? Anyone has insight and/or experiences?
Thanks for any responses.

Just confirmed with GEICO that "Hit and run is covered for bodily injury, but not for collision".
I am rated as a good driver, it costs me $136/year to have UM Bodily Injury ($15000/$30000) and UM Property Damage ($3500) for one couple on three cars.
How much premiums do you pay on average for UM Bodily Injury to half million per year? If it is just $100 premium/year for two person on two cars, I might pay way too much. Any comments?

Probably first of all is to know under what scenario the UM will be covered. My current understanding on hit-and-run with GEICO and 21-century is negative. But I will dig deeper to find accrue info.
It is also depending on UM coverage. If you just have minimum amount ($15000/$30000 UM Injury, $3000 UM Property Damage), but with a relatively good health insurance, Short Term Disability and Long Term Disability (both STD and LTD have capped amount), plus spouse also has a good insurance, STD and LTD , I think what you get is smooth payment with UM insurance, and possible double coverage. (ignore co-payment)
p.s. If my spouse and I both get injured and lost job, it is just a bad luck.

In CA, both UM (injury) and UM (property) is not required but I have to sign release form (GEICO is my insurance company).
This will kick in if and only if you could record the plate number and verify that another party is uninsured/under-insured. Hit-and-run definitely is excluded without identifiable info.
It cost me $136/year for one couple on three cars. I am debating whether I should drop it. Chances to be covered from this policy is relatively low. Yet being low is not a valid excuse to drop it.
I have a good heath insurance and Short Term Disability. UM will help but not much.
Any insights?

PiperWarrior: I am astonished that you really spend minutes to add my percentage. Shame on me for my carelessness and ignorance. I updated the format for easy reading and recomputed the percentage to add up to 100%. There is typo in her 401k. It should "total domestic market index fund" instead of "DJ Wildfire 4500 index". So it might make sense to invest in mid/small cap index fund. After reading your and Laura's postings, I just wonder whether I should keep a small percentage on some attractive actively managed mutual fund, such as VPMAX(PrimeCap), SGOIX(overseas small value) in addition to the low cost index fund in his 401K In the process of implementing your suggestions, is it better to transition slowly in a few mo...

Thank you very much Laura for your "general" but pinpointing suggestions.
I have already updated my posting to exclude house down payment amount, add estimated contribution amount to 401k in 2009 and projected saving amount in 2009.
If anyone could provide a little bit more detailed suggestions/advice, I truly appreciate it.
BTW, her 401K has excellent mid and small cap index mutual fund, is it a good idea to own some of them?
The last but not the least, I spend time to format nicely (fund name, expenses ratio, percentage), yet it displayed in an unacceptable way, anyone has clue to fix it?

Help on Personal Investment Portfolio
I have read this forum for some time, and is a fan of Vanguard index investing. Yet my investment portfolio seems not aligned with my goal. I truly appreciate any advice/suggestions on my asset allocation. I have emergency funds = 3-6 months of expenses I have car loan = $28105 Tax Filing Status: Married filing Jointly Tax Rate: about 28% Federal for 2008 (2009's estimated tax rate is 33%), 9.3% CA, living in CA. Age: I am about 35, my wife 27, without kid Currently plan to buy house in the next 6 month to 2 years. The down payment amount is excluded from investment portfolio listed here. Desired Asset allocation: (80% stocks/20% bonds) My total assets is low 6 figures, maybe ineligible to contribute to Roth IRA in 2009 and later years Curr...
