Re: SLYV vs IJS [SPDR vs. iShares S&P 600 Small Cap Value]

Back to the thread, no reason to buy IJS now. iShares will continue to make money since they have a significant asset base that can't sell due to taxes. I would be willing to bet IJS never lowers its .25% ER and SLYV will lower its .15% ER if Vanguard starts lowering on their end. I'm hopeful that ...

AVUV doesn't trade a significant amount and I never have any issues getting a fair price with a market or marketable limit order. In trying to further simplify, if I hold 50% AVUV, 40% AVDV, and 10% DGS, can I just dump the DGS allocation? I realize AVDV doesn't have emerging markets, but is the 10% really going to make that much of a difference? Or perhaps add a little AVEM at a much lower ER (even though it isn't small cap)...

Seems like with the slight tilt originally proposed you could just use a combination of AVUS, AVDE, and AVEM to get a slight tilt across the board without using any SCV. Its basically like holding DFA Core portfolios.

Is foreign tax drag a concern for anyone? Considering small value typically pays out higher dividends, you end up taking a bigger hit especially in a tax advantaged account.
