Thanks for the help! Yeah, I am trying to figure out the allocation for my 401k since I have to submit the papers very soon. So youre suggesting the Dreyfus S&P 500 may be my best bet? I am not necessarily immediately concerned about my Vanguard funds since I have time to read and let it grow in my ...

Sorry it has taken me awhile to respond to this post. I want to thank you for the prompt responses. I currently found out that they will only max match 25% of a 4% contribution you put in monthly. So since I contribute 20% every month to my saving/investing I will put in my 4% contribution to max th...

I'm almost done reading my first book on investing, Bogleheads' Guide to Investing. Excellent read so far, but i'm afraid I've found myself to be quite biased toward Vanguard...another Boglehead in the making. I'm thinking of getting Four Pillars of Investing or The Intelligent Investor. Any suggest...

You suggested some excellent sites. I'm new to the whole investing/personal finance game so finding some sites that offer great reads would be great. The websites I visit right now are Smartmoney and Forbes along with several blogs. I would love to see what sites other Bogleheads frequent

Hello everyone, I am new to the forum and a beginner investor. I will be opening my STAR fund at the end of this month, and contribute monthly until I hit $3k to which I can then transfer to one of the Target Retirement Funds. Sorry to hijack the thread, but would Vanguard charge any fees making the...
