I think that part of the problem is that entry level, customer service reps at Vanguard are not paid very well. I hope that Vanguard pays attention to threads like this and does something about it.

A mattress is definitely something that you want to spend a lot of money on considering how important sleep is and how much time you spend on a mattress. You might want to be frugal on other things but I would not be frugal on food, mattress, health, etc... that really impact your quality of life.

I recently sold a car to CarMax. They don't haggle and their offer is good for seven days. My car had a rusted gas line and the mechanic said that it wasn't worth fixing, so I didn't want to sell it on my own.

The market is so hot right now that it does not matter that much who you use. I would go with a real estate agent that had a low commission. Any licensed real estate agent can get you on the MLS.

There has to be another beneficiary if the sister dies or it will go to the brother if he is still alive when the sister dies. I would encourage him to pick a favorite charity as a beneficiary once his sister dies.

I bought a Prius prime about two months ago. I emailed twelve dealers and four came back with an out the door price. One dealer was $1500 cheaper than the rest and the others could not beat his price or even match it. So I recommend emailing many dealers in your area.
