I did not roll because I do a backdoor roth and can't have a Rollover IRA. Re: Does company loyalty still exist?
Hello Bogleheads, I am reaching out to hear your opinions on a difficult employment situation. I am a government contractor, and have left (and returned) to the same contract company... twice! We just won our recompete with 1 base year and 3 option years which means that there is likely some short term stabIlity. It is a very small IT services company with limited growth opportunity, but both times I returned to the company they welcomed me back when I was in a tough spot, not desperate, but also in situations that I had to leave. I have been offered a job in the new year that pays (5k base) better, offers quarterly bonuses, equity options, unlimited PTO, and slightly better healthcare and retirement benefits. The new company is on a 100% ...

Yes, mine is due Oct 1. No, I haven't mailed a check because I have neither received any instruction from LenderFi nor any coupon. And Diego says loan will be live soon on their servicing portal, but still nothing yet!!! What should I do, this is getting quite frustrating! In my case, a printed page of the coupons (for 10/01 and 11/01) was included with the closing docs. I have been hearing the same story from Diego. However, I will go ahead and mail my check. I closed my loan 3 weeks ago. And, no word from servicing on how to pay my mortgage payments. My payment is due Oct 1. Tried calling "Diego Alvarado" from whom I got last email 3 weeks ago saying : We will send you temporary coupons with the address and instructions on how to make your first mortgage payment. IMPORTANT: Please do not send any payments until the interim servicing department has sent you confirmation. He doesn't seem to be responding. Any ideas here on how to proceed? Did you check your closing docs? I had payment coupons in mine. They really should have online access ready to go and not have people mail in coupons. We are in 2020. It seems Lenderfi bit off more than can chew by going into servicing (maybe greed). ...

I have been having issue with servicing post close. At the table they told me servicing would be sold, and to wait to get info from the "interim servicing" department before mailing a payment. No problem, not unusual... Never heard anything after that and finally had to call/email the week before my first payment to get a payment coupon. Sent that in but radio silence and the check didn't clear for 2 weeks. This was to LenderFi. Now its coming up on payment #2 which supposedly will be with the new servicer Amerihome... but again radio silence. No statements, no welcome packet, not even a letter of servicing transfer in the mail. Surprisingly I have not even received the usual Fannie May letter that the note was sold. Soon I need ...

I see that it shows on my docs that Lendersfi will transfer the loan. Is it one of the big banks, like Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, etc?

I was never frugal, but living within your means and still enjoying your life. Not pinching pennies which I never did. Here are the main things that helped me during these times. 1- Paid off Mortgage (Never buy a starter home or McMansion) Buy a home that you can afford and pay it off as fast as possible. I remember when I bought my one and only house, the bank and realtor said I could qualify for a lot more then I borrowed. Don't fall for that trick. Expenses are generally down for the following:
Fuel expenses. Car, public transportation.
Grocery
Just canceled sleepaway camp. I am sure more camps will be canceled.
Vacation: Spring break canceled. We have not canceled summer but it is looking that we will cancel.
Same costs:
We still paying the kids lessons (they are now online).
We are support local restaurants (now delivery service).
Additional costs:
I am buying weights, bench, barbell for home gym since the gyms are closed.
Also, bought additional workbooks and online services to help the kids with school work.

You son will not receive a stimulus check if he is a dependent on your return.
To receive a check, your son needs to immediately file a 2019 return and you should not include your son as a dependent when you file your 2019 return.

Grocery deliveries are not being carried out due to the unavailability of items.
The grocery delivery manager is now doing checkout cashier work because they have suspended delivery or pickup services.
Not sure of yours but most of the grocery stores in my area have times for seniors only. Usually in the morning to shop for items before the rest of the shoppers are allowed (after nightly restocks).

Oil down over 20%. Wow. The Saudis flooded the market to flush out weaker competitors. Changed their minds after considering production cuts. You mean the market still responds to things other than the coronapocalypse? This could be bad for peace in the Persian Gulf. If I were the Iranians, I might see this as a provocation to start stirring up trouble with the shipping lanes and Saudi oil production facilities to jack the price back up again.... The Iranians are under sanction. They can’t sell oil. So the change in price will not affect them. However, the lower oil price will hurt the US shale industry. Really? The headlines are interesting. The facts are more interesting. Right now there are less than 5% of federal workers not working. Many of them are seasonal, part time, and/or vacant positions. Possibly this can't be answered given the forum rules, but I wonder how much the chaos in Washington about financial matters is the cause of investor anxiety? Also, separately, recently someone started a thread wondering why so few new CDs were available at Vanguard, and people including myself said we saw a number of them. But I have noticed the past couple of days there are actually a lot fewer new CDs than I am used to seeing. Might that be because banks don't think they can predict interest rates in this environment? The average person doesn’t know nor care. They are celebrating Xmas and most are celebrating a smaller government. I think it has zero impact. At Christmas eve with our families, we were all talking about the market drop. ...

The law still stands so there is no change. I am not sure why we are even discussing what ifs. We don't do this for pending tax legislation.
Only if the law is struck down (by supreme court) that we can now discuss potential life changes, etc. There is a reason why the case was heard in this location of Texas. It has not even been heard in the appeals court but we are already discussing impact.
So the admins should lock this thread.

Barcode generator
I am looking for a barcode generator software that i can use to inventory about 300 different servers. I want something that can easily and quickly generate barcodes for all the devices. That is, I specify that i need 350 distinct barcode and the software quickly generates the barcodes. The ones i have seen can only create one barcode at a time. My preference will be to buy a software but will consider a tool that can perform the same function. My company will pay for this software/tool.

Why not get a physical to check your health. Then based on the result of the physical, you apply for insurance.

The past expectation was already built into the stock price.
The stock price fell on future guidance.

Re: What to do with bill received for prior homeowner
This is simple. Just write " Return to Sender - incorrect address" and drop it in the mail. The sender will try to contact the prior owner using a different approach.

Re: questions about 529 plan - asset allocation
Did you rollover your MD 529 to another state's 529 plan? I am thinking of doing this for my MD plan.michaelsieg wrote:Thanks RabbMD and happymob,
I will definitely look into a rollover (after the tax season) to a lower cost VG plan. I liked the link you gave RabbMD, the link indeed says, that Maryland does not recapture rollover tax breaks - has anyone actually done this? Is the 12 month rule to avoid recapture effective in all states or are these state by state tax rules?
