Re: If Everyone Did The 3 Fund Vanguard Strategy, Would Vanguard Be Controlling US Companies?

To my mind stockholders have never been able to control companies except for rare instances like the Ford family. The Board of Directors controls the company and the Board is many times rigged by the CEO or Chairman. Stockholders have been, and most likely will always be at the mercy of a few people...

Anyway, Wells Fargo charges $95 to transfer out an account, and I would be moving three accounts. I seem to remember that in the past it was common for receving brokerages to reimburse these fees. Is that still a thing, or have the cash bonuses largely replaced it? Unfortunately, Wells Fargo has th...

Admire your tenaciousness, but at some point, it is just a car and they make and crush thousands of them continually. Honda does not deserve your loyalty, consider trading it for RAV4 and turning this over to some Class Action lawyers. Your health will benefit and you might get a $1.99 back some day...

[/quote] The answer is that the fund would continue to sell bonds and buy stocks, or at least place redemptions out of bonds and contributions into stocks, as the stock market continues to move down. Whether or not one would call this rebalancing a "lot" is open to interpretation. The market has not...

Thanks! Well, it must be rebalancing a lot in the last few weeks. If the total stk mkt if down 20%, it must be selling bonds to keep buying stocks all the way down, correct? Not correct. You can do the math yourself. The total stk market is NOT down 20% in the last few weeks. The process for rebala...

How often does the fund rebalance? it is every day, week, month etc. I think it rebalances essentially continually as it needs to. Hypothetically, yes dividend spending will last for forever. Unfortunately, human beings most certainly will not.
