I was just notified that the case was assigned to a detective on our city's police force. I was given no indication of when I might hear from him or anything else, but I ws given his email address and told that if I have any further further information I should email him.

Clarification: the security questions were, date of birth, address, SS#, and mother's maiden name. When I called Trans America they said that there is now an option for a more personal security question, but my father's account did not have one.

The account was cashed out except for money left behind to pay for taxes. The money was transferred to another bank, and the custodian says that the account to which the money was transferred was opened under my father's name.

He was informed by a letter from the account custodian which looked to be very authentic - it looked the same as the monthly statements he had been receiving in the past - same phone numbers, same everything.

As a heads up....two weeks ago I purchased eclipse-viewing glasses from Amazon that were described as being ISO compliant. Yesterday I get an e-mail from Amazon saying that these glasses were not ISO complaint and to not use them for viewing the eclipse. So things are sometimes not what they seem.

I couldn't agree with you more. Life is not over as a result of a "C", regardless of what the high school says. And life is much more important than a "C" as well. This whole college thing has become crazy and it brings out the worst in our kids in many ways.
