Re: What can I expect from new golf clubs

Usually it’s the Indian not the arrow. If you’ve never had lessons it would probably help especially with setup and swing path. You don’t need to spend $1000 for a new set of clubs. Go to a golf retailer find some you like and buy them online. I got my new set for $350 on eBay. 2 year old model neve...

Re: Suggestions for Buying a House When You Already Own a Home

Going through this process now except my home is paid for. Both the markets I’m selling in and buying in are in hot markets. I am taking out a stock secured loan equal to 20% of the new home purchase from my former employer’s credit union and combining that with cash I had reserved and some of my ca...

Re: Govt Retirees Considering Relocating Permanently from IL to FL - Input and Thoughts Pls

I'm living in a gated community in Fort Myers. There is no real estate fire here. Homes range from $500,000 to $900,000. I suggest you take another look at the marketplace. We've looked there and yes it looks like the market is quite saturated with plenty of options. We are looking in Indian Rocks ...

Re: Finally, sanity at the supermarket

Was in Publix today. Got everything I was looking for except hand sanitizer. Stopped at CVS, Walgreens and a Winn Dixie on the way home. I guess I just won’t have hand sanitizer.

Re: What is your AA, given your age ? and this crisis ?

Age:59 Retired May 31,2019 35 stock 65 bonds/cash. Was putting my house on the market this week and using 100k of my cash allocation to upgrade. I’m wondering if this is a good idea now. Minus the 100k for the house that still leaves 20 years expenses in bonds/cash so pretty sure I’ll be reasonably ...

Re: A great example of single stock risk

I don't know that I have ever heard or seen any advice saying to invest in only one stock. Not invest in nothing but one stock, but employee stock purchase plans and management stock option/RSU plans implicitly urge people to invest significantly in only one stock. Most employers don't suggest that...

Hold WAY too much company stock in ESOP. Retiring in August and adjusting AA to 55/35/10.
If the market can just hang in there a little longer for me.
Going to make the tax man very happy this year cashing out but that's my price for freedom.

ESOP Distribution

I just received paperwork from the retirement department of the company I work for that would allow me to diversify 25% of my company ESOP this year (I turn 55 this year). I do want to take this opportunity to roll the 25% portion to a IRA. My ESOP account consists of 100% company stock. When I reti...
