Tried turning screw counter clockwise to allow for more fuel but it still boggs down when choke is completely off. At this point I'll just run it with a 3/4 choke. Runs completely fine then. We don't use our generator much so this will suffice.
I thought about taking it to small engine repair but not in the middle to eat a couple hundred bucks when I can keep it running with 3/4 choke. Thanks for all the replies and help.

I would tell her to avoid the trip like the plague. Who cares if she loses out on a couple grand. Not worth the remote chance those savages spill over to the DR. If you want to see whats really going on there dont tune into the nightly news. Do a simple duckduckgo search or use the brave browser. Google is censoring a lot of it. What mainstream is broadcasting is literally a cartoon for kids compared to real footage being leaked online. Its carnage. I can imagine someone writing in Europe about avoiding California or Texas given what those savages are doing in Mexico? I mean the cartels rule northern Mexico - and we only read about the atrocities they commit, which are plenty horrible. Is it really safe in California or Texas? Short answer...

I didnt tweak it. Well, I did quickly. Not sure how long it takes to see a change after you start adjusting screw. Ill try to screw it in all the way so its more rich, then back it out slowly to see if there is any change. Thanks for the tip.

Portable generator issues
Any small engine experts here? I have a portable generator that only runs well when its on full choke or mostly full choke. If I turn the choke off, it will bog down and shut off. Ive replaced the carburetor. Actually replaced it twice to make sure one wasnt messed up. New oil, new gas, great flow of fuel from the fuel lines, so steady stream of fuel is getting to the carb. New spark plug, new air filter. From everything I read is should be an issue with the carburetor. Also replaced gaskets around carb. I have not checked compression. Any other ideas what it could possibly be? Im close to tossing it and buying another, although all the newer generators are basically trash unless you spend $3k and get a honda, which I wont be doing.

Our 12 year old unit was freezing up a couple months ago. Had a tech come out and he was great. It can get expensive to find leaks...and by expensive still talking sub $1k. He used a device that detects the gas, sort of like a carbon monoxide detector. Evaporator coil in basement was fine. We went outside and he discovered it was the schrader valve that was leaking...not that uncommon. The valve where you pump refrigerant into the system. He simply replaced the small core on the valve. He had a special tool to do this so all of the refrigerant wouldnt come gushing out. He did have to add around 3lbs of refrigerant back...thats what leaked out over time. Its been over a month and AC is working great. The unit is a goodman. I said to him that...

Guess it depends if you're poor or not. For something like that, we would pay $20 a visit, since its a quick in and out.
When we go to the beach we have a family friend, he's 17, stay at our house. He works a summer job then comes over and sleeps there with our dog. We pay $100/day for that. Money well spent for peace of mind and knowing the dog is in good hands and has someone to sleep with at night. Yeah, dog is booshie and parents spoil their dog.

^this. For whatever reason people do not want to pay over what materials cost. They want people to work for free. I know multiple people with this mindset. If you're not willing to pay up then you'll need to watch some youtube videos and diy. Prices are sky high for contractors and will remain so moving forward. Get used to it, never have anything repaired, or diy. Those are you options.lthenderson wrote: ↑Mon Mar 27, 2023 1:09 pmI suspect it isn't so much a shortage of handyman rather than a shortage of what people are willing to pay a handyman more or the same as what they could earn doing something else.

Re: Vacation ideas with under 2 toddler
Kids under 5 won't remember a thing. And even later if they do, they don't care. No kid likes "fine dining". You don't travels for kids, you travel for yourself. Exactly. Our child was 2 and we went to disney. Everyone said that was too young since he wont remember. Well, the parents will remember the great memories. Kid loved it too, but he will not remember when he gets older. Who cares. Live in the moment. We have the memories and a ton of great photos. I also see a trend of people saying they are waiting to travel with their kids. Its another way for parents to feel better about themselves for never doing anything with their kids. Those same people never traveled even when they didnt have kids. Funny how that works.

If you get anxiety by simply seeing people traveling with stroller and car seats, I say avoid traveling for now. You gotta go with the flow when it comes to being out of your comfort zone (traveling with small ones.) We're in a similar situation as you. Toddler around same age. We live in PA and had our first "real" trip in December, little over 2 years. We flew to orlando. Did disney for 3 days, pool at the vrbo we stayed. It was an awesome trip. We didnt have high expectations because pre baby, we always went to national parks or places that werent crowded. We were pleasantly surprised how fun disney was. But, we werent those parents that forced their kid to stay at the park all day and watch them have a melt down. We went when ...

I love horror movies, but this one fell flat. I read reddit reviews and sure, the idea of abuse from parents or even from demonic things is freaky, but this was lame. I dont recommend it unless you like watching very dark lit ceilings, walls and floors. Literally, thats the entire movie.

For my first couple of cars, I followed what the dealer recommendations and discovered that I paid for a lot of unnecessary services. (My knowledge on cars is minimal.) For my last car (Toyota), I checked owners forum and made sure that I only do what Toyota had recommended. I currently own a 2019 Hyundai Ioniq. It is at 16k miles. Due to the pandemic, I only drove about a 1k-2k per year in 2021 and likely the same in 2022. Today I finally brought the car to the dealer for oil change and tire rotation. (Last year, I did an oil change at one of those places that customers can stay in their cars.) The dealer recommended the following after an inspection. 1) Change the air filter. 2) Clean and lubricate real brakes. 3) Flush the brake fluid. ...

Re: difficult to clean toilet bowl
Very simple, use 1000 grit 3m wetordry sandpaper. You get 10 sheets for like $8. We have to use this. We clean our toilets regularly but a ring will appear after a while no matter what. Cut a small section of sandpaper and sand away. The 10 pack should last the life of the toilet.
Ring will come back eventually. Ours stays decent for approx 6 months, then I just sand again. Doesn't hurt the toilet bowl.

$600 for tires on a focus? Find a walmart that has a tire center. You can get 4 new tires for sub $300, and they install and dispose of your old ones. And yes, they're good tires that will last 45k miles +.
YOu do not need a coolant flush. Air filters are cheap and they mark them up. You do not need to change brake fluid on rotor/brake replacements. Find another shop. The one you're going to is sticking it to you.
2012 focus with only 100k miles, yeah, I would def be keeping it. Its barely broke in and has plenty of life left.

We're around the same age as you, make slightly less and have about double the portfolio size with an almost paid off house. We still couldnt justify the price of something we can use only 4 months a year, maybe 5. We're going with an above ground pool next year. Not a huge one since our child is only 2, but something we can get in and play around. When we're sick of it, we'll tear it down and get a bigger if he loves it. Thats absolutely a concern. When I see a course go out of business with homes around it, it just becomes overgrown and not multifamily housing. Either way, we put a refundable $250 deposit down. If we didnt like the car in person, we could have gotten our deposit back. I actually like this model. Why have 100 new cars just sitting around at a dealership? They should have one of each model that you can at least test drive, imo. As far as negotiations, we did not have a trade in. We simply paid what the asking price was. Dealer offered some incentive, like $900ish off msrp. We didnt care. EAsy peasy. It was quick. I like the way they do things now. The Masters is great and fun to watch, but lets not forget its the weakest field out of all the big 5 tournaments. 4 majors and the players. If you win, you get to play for life. Previous winners tee up that have zero chance of winning, but its a privilege they get.
I enter the lottery every year in hopes of winning tickets, so I can resell them. I love golf but would never go to Augusta, unless it was to play.

Do you know how to use a camera? What settings for different scenarios? If not, dont even bother spending a bunch of money on a camera.
Ive seen people with inexpensive cameras with decent lenses take incredible photos because they knew how to use it.
I bought a canon 7D years ago when they were new. Yes its not the best camera but not trash either. It was $1k+, cant even remember at this point. I could never take decent pictures because I didnt know how to use it and I was too lazy to learn. Waste of money, lesson learned. Still practically new and sits in the closet.

$200 isnt even worth it. There are credit cards out there with $500 and $1000 bonuses. Of course, you typically have to spend $3k-$4k in 3 months to earn bonus.

Re: Moab, Utah in April
National parks are doing timed entries but this can be avoided if you arrive to the park early enough, before rangers are at the stations. To be safe, enter park around 6am and you wont have to deal with the timed entry garbage.

Re: Subaru Forester 2022
The deposit you put down is fully refundable, so if you dont like the color or have a change of heart, you can get your deposit back. Also, most people are paying msrp now. I actually like it that way. The whole idea of negotiating for something is dumb imo. If I cant afford to pay msrp, ill look for something cheaper.
