What to do w/ some short-term monies?

Hello: I recently came into some money (~ $125K) that I plan on putting towards the purchase of some land and then the building of a custom home. I am expecting a 1.5-2 year timeframe until land purchase, home design and build are complete. In the meantime, I am looking for a good place to park this...

I agree with 'marco49' about planting crimson clover seed in the Fall. I have been doing that in my garden (East TN - Zone 6b) for nearly 25 years now. Over the winter it will: stabilize the soil and keep weed growth down. In the early Spring it will act as 'green manure' when you turn/till it under...

Apparently, the WSJ has been cracking down on those who 'resell' subscriptions - especially in cases where it's to exisiting users, where they would have the paper go to the same address but simply use a made-up name so that it appeared that it was a new subscriber. At this point in time, it seems i...

And, if you want something else to do, drive up (or down) the Columbia River Gorge . Also, Mt. Adams is a beatuiful Cascade mountain that doesn't get nearly the number of v...

One thing to consider when spraying on Roundup - or any other weedkiller - is if there is a surfactant in the product itself. Having a surfactant slows down the evaporative rate of the liquid, thereby giving the active ingrediant more time to be absorbed and taken up through the leaves. If the produ...

In Florida you could go to the Ft. Meyers/Cape Coral areas - and visit Sanibel and Captiva Islands while there, too. And if you wanted to travel a bit further south while there you could visit Naples and further on is the southwestern part of the Everglades region.
