This article surprised me. I've been with USAA ( insurance first in 1973, then added banking in 1978). Haven't had any problems but use NFCU for 90% of our banking activities. I had to close the HELOC when I refinanced the mortgage. The only downside was a delay in the refinancing until I got the documents confirming the HELOC was closed.
