Re: Medicare part D- Wellcare

I have had Wellcare Plan D before. Every now and then, they offer the best costs available, to lure you in. Then the next year they increase them.

They are offing the lowest costs for me for 2019. However I'm staying with my current plan.

Washington DC Trip

My wife and I will be visiting Washington DC. We plan to see the tourists sites. We will be staying in Springfield Va and taking the metro to the Foggy Bottom metro station. We plan to get a pass for the hop on hop off bus. Can anyone recommend which bus service? Also, can any one recommend a reliab...

Re: Changing ISP

Thanks to everyone that responded to my question. I will upgrade my hardware.

I will be getting the Arris Surfboard SB6141 and for the router the Netgear N600.

Thank you.

Changing ISP

I'm in a suburb of Chicago and currently have Wowway as my ISP. I am thinking about converting to Comcast. Comcast will increase my internet service from 4 Mbps to 75. My router and modem are most likely over 15 years old. I have a Linksys router WRT54G and a surfboard 5120. If I go from 4 Mbps to 7...

Fenway Park

My son and I would like to go to a couple of Cubs and Red Sox games in late April. We will be coming from Chicao so we will need hotel rooms. The hotels around Fenway Park are very expensive. We can stay outside of Boston, but need to take public transportation to Fenway. We would want to make only ...

Re: TaxAct will not import tax info from Fidelity

Thank you, but your instructions do not work. When I attempt to process step 7, there is no "download" link. I think your instructions are out of date. Fidelity will allow you do download all the tax data from the "tax forms" page. You do not have to process multiple steps for gains or loses. The pr...

TaxAct will not import tax info from Fidelity

The TaxAct web site says, you can download a cvs file from your brokerage and import into TaxAct. I can download the cvs file from Fidelity. Fidelity says it's a cvs file. but TaxAct, sends an error message, stating "Select a Valid cvs file. I think Fidelity is doing it correctly. How to I get TaxAc...

Need Help with Umbrella Insurance

My wife was in a car accident recently and I am thinking, from a financial perspective, we may be exposed. She was making a left hand turn and got hit by a car going in the opposite direction. There were no witnesses, so the police gave her a ticket for improper left turn. In Illinois, with no witne...

Re: Not Buying a Home Could Cost You

For most people, maybe 95%, buying a house is not an investment. I tend to view my purchase as forced savings. When I calculate how much I've paid in mortgage, interest, upkeep, maintenance, repairs, remodeling and taxes, my house value now, may be worth what I have put into it. But you still need a...

Re: TurboTax '14 Deluxe (Desktop) Excludes Schedule D

I've been lazy and had continued with TurboTax for recent years even though they were more expensive. Now with the elimination of Schedule D, the cost of Premier and state efile are $110. I can get that functionality in TaxAct for $21.95, an 80% savings. I've played with H&R Block and TaxAct several...

Roth Conversion Caution

This year I had enough latitude in my tax bracket (15%) to take some money out of my 401k and convert some of it to a Roth, and stay in my same bracket. What I did not know at the time, was the IRS formula for the amount of my social security that is taxed. Most information says up to 85%, but if yo...
