66 this next year. I do not know the market and the market does not know the market. 95% stocks....5% cash. 3 years ago I made 500000..thats $1000+ a day. market has dropped me down $150000. glad I stayed in the market the last 40 years. Every 7th,15,21I have money from my MM to my checking. If I don't need it I put in savings. If took out more then need I'll just stop the aromatics withdrew. I like having in a weekly pay check. I did not have any money taken out in Dec.

I'm 95% stock. If I had the cash I would buy Facebook. I bought at 50 sold at 160 would buy but don't want to sale any mutual funds.

66 95% in market lost 250000 but it will come back. 3 years ago made 1/2m. just stay out of debt.

I'm 65 if I take SS at 66 my wife is 62 and does not take SS until 70 but dies at 64. When I hit 70 could I get what she would get if she was alive at 70. Or would it only be what she would get ay 66. or none of the above. She will get more then me at 66 and 70 if she is alive.

Would it be ok to have our cash in a Roth 3-4 years, I'm taking out 3000 a month from Ira but only using about 1500 the rest is going into banking a 0%. I thank you all with these in sight on Conversion. at 66 I'm retired have 2m. I do not take SS. How do you look at Roth and taking SS.
I put in $30000 to Roth. I'm at 12% tax right now.

mine is 25 going to replace next week air and heat 6500. I feel good about this. It is starting die. don't want to wake up and need a know one with a foot of snow out side. If the next one go's 25 years I'll have paid $230 a year for the unit. I'll also be 90 years old.

I always look at the last 5 year average. I'm up 13% so losing some now is not a big thing. You should have a plan for times like this year, I will not sell stock until I use up my 2 years cash and then I might look at SS. That's why I did not take SS at 62 or 65 and will take at 70. I'm happy at 95...

It's hard to pay the tax's now with using a Roth but I know in 4 years it will pay off. Would you move lets say $50000 from S&P IRA to S&P Roth and have your cash in IRA that you live on for the year. Or everything that you need to the Roth at the start of the year and take out as needed from Roth. ...

I'm 65 I have 1 1/2 years of living in money market. Rest in stock funds. At the end of the year I will look at what I made this year in my money fund and move to MM. I will use SS if there is a big lost after my MM is used up or at 70. No debt I buy avenger's not stuff.

cancer and divorce will kill big dreams you had for 62. She lived on 150000 a year now its at 36000.

So as I understand that I could take my SS at 66. My wife is younger by 3 years and has a bigger ss coming. If she plan on taking at 70 but dies on the way. At my 70 I can switch to her SS that she would get at 70.

If you need bond do it. I'm 95% stock funds..5% cash. SS is my bond fund. I do not use % I use cash I want 35000 a year So I have 70000 cash for 2y. I'm65 have 1m+in stocks.

65 old..I'm 95% in stocks and 5% cash. No SS yet. Will take SS when stock market go's down and I've used up my cash. I'll sleep well until stocks go down 20% cash is gone then I'll take SS. No bonds ever.

If you take 18000 a year from your IRA you can live 34 years. Take out 24000 and live for 26 years at 2000 a month. you will not have any tax's so at 70 you could have 2000 ira, ss about 3500 a month. so you could have 5500 a month. I'm 65 this week. 93% stock and 3 years living in cash no never bonds. I make $35000 in dividends which I put to cash if I get down to 2 years in cash.. I only want $1800 a month from my funds and cash.. I live on $2500 a month. No SS until 70. Wife has her own spend more then me.

I used Karma free to file. Printed it out and sent state in then Fed. State cashed the check. Fed I'm weighting. I had a very simple tax form. Did make 120000 but no right offs. This may seem strange but I'm 65 will take SS at 70 maybe. My plan is to die at 80 or so. I take my Ira and divide it by 15 years and that's what I can take out. you need form 8606 vanguard does no do. I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed but I was able to feel it out. You can get on the internet.. Look at part 2 is what needs to be filled out.

With vanguard I did a conversion Ira to Roth. They just sent me a 1099-r. I'm 64 and do take money out of my Ira weekly. They just put it all together.

I'm building up my Roth with my Ira. Plan is have about $240000 at 70 in 5 years. soo I will be taking out $2000 a month tax free. Plus SS with wife $4400 low tax. then the Ira will kick in a lot. I can live on just SS and Ira. The 2000 will be play time money most likely kids will get it.

I looked today. 97% stocks 3% cash. I've been retired for 10 years In those 10 years with little pension up 1.5m live on 60000. SS will give us 45000 in 5 years from now. If I we lost 50% we would still have more then we had 10 years ago. I'm at 2.5m and in the last 2 years have made 600000.

My mom. Orphan at 14. Worked in the ship years ww2. My parent married at 18.
Mom never finished HS. Got into real estate at 45 and got her GED at 60. She has been gone for 20 years but I thank her everyday. She gave me a book Your last Dollar. On compounding interest. I'm at 3m now
