If you take 18000 a year from your IRA you can live 34 years. Take out 24000 and live for 26 years at 2000 a month. you will not have any tax's so at 70 you could have 2000 ira, ss about 3500 a month. so you could have 5500 a month. I'm 65 this week. 93% stock and 3 years living in cash no never bonds. I make $35000 in dividends which I put to cash if I get down to 2 years in cash.. I only want $1800 a month from my funds and cash.. I live on $2500 a month. No SS until 70. Wife has her own spend more then me.

I used Karma free to file. Printed it out and sent state in then Fed. State cashed the check. Fed I'm weighting. I had a very simple tax form. Did make 120000 but no right offs. This may seem strange but I'm 65 will take SS at 70 maybe. My plan is to die at 80 or so. I take my Ira and divide it by 15 years and that's what I can take out. you need form 8606 vanguard does no do. I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed but I was able to feel it out. You can get on the internet.. Look at part 2 is what needs to be filled out.

With vanguard I did a conversion Ira to Roth. They just sent me a 1099-r. I'm 64 and do take money out of my Ira weekly. They just put it all together.
Do I need a Form 8606? Total $32000 (Roth15000)

I'm building up my Roth with my Ira. Plan is have about $240000 at 70 in 5 years. soo I will be taking out $2000 a month tax free. Plus SS with wife $4400 low tax. then the Ira will kick in a lot. I can live on just SS and Ira. The 2000 will be play time money most likely kids will get it.

I looked today. 97% stocks 3% cash. I've been retired for 10 years In those 10 years with little pension up 1.5m live on 60000. SS will give us 45000 in 5 years from now. If I we lost 50% we would still have more then we had 10 years ago. I'm at 2.5m and in the last 2 years have made 600000.

Mom never finished HS. Got into real estate at 45 and got her GED at 60. She has been gone for 20 years but I thank her everyday. She gave me a book Your last Dollar. On compounding interest. I'm at 3m now

I'm 65 and at 98% stocks. If the stock market go down 30% this year I'm still up from my 33% last year. I don't have aa. I look at my last 3 years and have averaged up 25% a year. I'll play this game for a few more years. I love winning. up $130000 in 28 days that's 2 years of living.

Have Facebook in Ira and Roth. I'm thinking of selling some Ira Facebook and moving that money to my Roth then buy Facebook in Roth. I need to move money to Roth for the next 5 years before 70. will pay tax from another account. I'm I braking any rules?

Son 31 makes 80000+
I have him max out 75% 401k and 25% in Roth
I'm thinking of having him go to 50/50.
company match 5%.
When I'm gone he will get 1.5m but that will be 20+year from now.

I've taken what I have and take that amount and divide 80 by it. That's when I think I'm going to die. So I have 15 years to live can spend about 100000 a year. If anything is left my wife and kids and our 2 cats get. Plus a house. Wife has her own money.

With Stocks going up. I can do a bigger Roth and use my Ira to live on also. If we get a bad hit. I will start using my SS and save my Ira. The SS is a good back up. I'm 65 and have 2.5m but live on 60000. I feel I'm in a good spot. If I die young wife will still be ok.

I'm 65 we have 5 cars. All old but run will not sell but will take it to junk yard some day. All are paid for age range 72 to 2018. Always bought new and ran into ground. We rent when we travel. When I buy new and pay $30000 I'm really looking at 20 years which meant about 1500 a year.
