Re: Help buy $15k new Tesla for dad? Gift tax? Incentives?
the Long Range AWD model is not available right now but might be returning later Ah that's a good point with upcoming Tesla vehicle models/trims. Presumably the reintroduction of Model 3 Long Range would be with locally made batteries eligible for the full federal $7,500 and potentially leading to a base Model 3 also using the local batteries? Additionally, I just realized his social security income might not be high enough to claim the full federal credit amount anyway this year, but I believe next year it becomes a point-of-sale credit directly reducing the purchase price, so maybe it makes sense to wait until 2024 anyway? It’s POS for ease. You have to reconcile it when you do your tax return. Guess what if you don’t meet the tax due pa...

GM Financial puts your one pay in an escrow account and pays the depreciation and rent monthly from it. if you have a total loss, you get the escrow account back. it's in the contract that way...ignore many of the folks here, they have no idea what they are saying. other leasing companies may do the same...note a one pay lease isn't the same as paying it ahead....a ONE PAY goes to an escrow account.

I hear you, but your diminished value isn't $22k.
What you didn't do that would hurt your claim is do an appraisal on carvana without the damage..maybe the market for that car went down suddenly? what kind of car is it?
what would a dealer or carmax offer you car now? what about vroom? you would need more proof that that.

This High Country is undesirable anyway. It's a 4x2 with no options in it. For that price you don't buy this car.KandT wrote: ↑Thu Nov 19, 2020 8:29 pm This dealership is marking a Suburban High Country down 5.7% before any negotiations.

Similar with the LT. The sticker is such a made up number. Of course if they wanted the sticker to be $100,000 on a vehicle worth $50,000 that's pretty easy to do. They show you 50% off and the customer is delighted.
Cars are a crazy game. There are tons of these in transit and with the holidays and unemployment, I think they will be moving off of sticker.

Re: Buying a new Chevy Suburban
1) The new 2021's are certainly 100% redesigned. New platform, frame, body, technologies, etc. Rearend is now IRS, G80 is gone. Transmission shifter is now push button - no more steering column. It's pretty clear if you own a previous generation, when sitting/seeing the new one up close, that it's very 'familiar' but also a completely redesigned truck. 2) Mexico auto suppliers are working at 50% capacity due to COVID. Some are completely shutdown. As such, GM is very short on inventory across all models... including the new 2021 Suburban/Yukon/Tahoe. Order lead times are pushing 2-3 months. Over half of the inbound Suburban/Yukons/Tahoes on order to the dealer are sold before they even land at the dealership. AT4s are like hunting unicorns...

Re: Car Dealers not really wanting to make a deal
"Invoice price," "MSRP" and "zero financing" are a big scam. Invoice Price is not really what a dealer pays to the manufacturer, because they get rebates off that price depending on volume. Maybe the pay the Invoice Price on Monday and get a rebate on Thursday, but at the end of the day the Invoice Price is not the dealer's true cost. MSP is a fiction created so that when you buy the car for less, you feel you got a great deal. Free financing is a scam designed to make the buyer feel like they got a free loan. As a lender, would you make a free loan? No you wouldn't. Neither would the finance company. The dealer sells the car to you at in inflated price that includes prepaid interest. For example, assume the d...

they are in the midst of the sale...it closes in 2020..april 30 is prob right around when it closes and accounts transfer or whatever happens next.
also it's $4.95 and not $0...only the USAA ETF are $0.
Note 1 Commissions may change without prior notice. $4.95 reflects promotional commission pricing for online/mobile stock transactions executed through April 30, 2020. USAA may extend the promotional pricing period beyond April 30, 2020, at its sole discretion. You may view a full commission schedule, or call 800-531-8722 for more information.
