Interestingly, the Shell station I used to go to, which had the convenience store branded Circle K, has now dropped all Shell signage and shows Circle K on the pumps. I don't know which gas they're selling there now.

This is a frequent question. The answer is, no one knows. It's a common opinion on the forum that different index makes it safe. The IRS has issued essentially no guidance on evaluating mutual funds.

In case your plan doesn't allow that (and likely they would) you can also check your new plan to see if they take rollovers from IRAs. Then you could roll the TIRA with the pretax amounts in and keep the Roth.

But I wouldn't worry about anything until you check with the current plan.

You might be able to endorse the check and send it to the custodian. Even though the withholding is minimal, it would simplify things is you replaced that.
