Form 3520 is an information return, not a tax return, and there is no transcript for it.

However, failure to file can result in substantial penalty.

The spouses are treated as one entity for wash sale purpose. Filing status has no bearing on the wash sale rules.

The IRS says in Pub 550: “If you sell stock and your spouse or a corporation you control buys substantially identical stock, you also have a wash sale.”

Did you tell TaxAct online calculator that your son is a dependent? If yes, the calculator apparently doesn't know anything about the kiddie tax. That deduction is not shown on 2018 schedule 1 of form 1040.

They extended the educator expenses deduction but not tuition/fees deduction.

I think a lot of people move into an HOA neighborhood without knowing what is in the CC&Rs. And that's the main source of many complaints and problems.

Two weeks is very fast for such transfers. My last transfer took more than four weeks even though I encountered no issues with the transfer.

It could be worse. A friend of mine wanted to move her 401(K) to an IRA, but was told that they had no record of her money. :oops:
