If saving for retirement is "deferred spending", then I regret not "spending" more into my 401k.

I did the "6% is pretty darn good" for several years. I could have saved much more (percentage wise) even on smaller starting salaries.

Those new Tommy Armour 845s (early 90s) are long gone. :shock:

Are you not able to roll it to a Rollover (Traditional) IRA?

You should not be forced to withdraw. Roll it (the lump sum) to a Rollover IRA at Vanguard, Fidelity, Schwab, etc.

$6k for for Regular Roth IRA (front or back door). It does not include conversions.

Save as much as you can. Paying 22% now isn't the best way to do that. For me at least.

Pay off debt. Avoid paying interest.

Defer tax when you can (you only have $19k, $7k HSA to defer.

You are selling one fund at the current market value and buying a different fund also at the current market value.

With an exchange you are not out of the market 1 day.
