Cloudflare dns doesn't require you to install anything. If you want dns over tls, or dns over https, which windows does not natively support, you need to install a tool to allow that to work. I used Karma free to file. Printed it out and sent state in then Fed. State cashed the check. Fed I'm weighting. I had a very simple tax form. Did make 120000 but no right offs. I used credit karma, and they don't even have a paid version

They ask you if they can use your data for non sold internal advertisement purposes. I selected no. Worked fine.

Most consumer grade routers are just poorly designed. This is common behavior and suggestions to load open source alternatives such as DD-WRT or Tomato won't fix the underlying hardware.
