Ive always stuck To hawaii or atlantis in the bahamas, wife would suggest a resort in mexico, am i just to paranoid to want to take the kids and family down there? Is it safe?

So 3 dollar min purchases 10 debit charges a month your spending 30 bucks to get 20 bucks might as well not use that bank and get a fidelity credit card and get 2% back on all purchases.

She doesn't graduate until December and your worried about her loans already? Sounds like you might be trying to find a way to talk yourself out of the relationship. She went to school for a reason and she's getting a masters she must have a brain.

No employee plan opened up roth recently 2013. Taxable has total stock market and total international. Roth currently has total bond and REIT fund. If I want to keep total bond near 10% it seems I need to add a third fund and that's going to be either total market in roth or add mid cap in there and...

Which third fund for roth

So far I currently have 2 funds in my roth but need to open a third in it to keep allocation good.

Currently have bond fund and a REIT fund as for third will it be better to put my mid cap value or put some total stock market in there?

Well i wanted to put aside 10k for each kid to start but not in a utma and i wanted to keep track of how much that grew i guess i could easily divide it up into my allocation and funds

i sold IJS in my taxable account, it was at a loss, and i want to purchase VBR in my IRA, but i am not sure if that would count as a wash sale, or how similar they are, should i wait the 30 days, or should i go head and purchase vbr asap?

For college or your 18-21 go start your life... They are young so I can go aggressive but if it's for college in 12-15 years I should probably go more conservative like with a 2025 target fund. Just not sure

Best funds for kids

I'm stuck trying to decide what fund to open for kids for now and until they turn 18. Their ages now are 6 and 4. So far I'm thinking the 2020 target fund or should I be going more aggressive or go for life strategy fund? Or even a Wellesly fund?

The job is cery stable. I was just confused because they said they did this so after it was maxxed they were done contributing and that made their take home pay more.

I'm wanting to contribute 20% a check to the 403b but a few coworkers are saying they contribute 80% to get the max faster now is there a benefit to getting the 17500 maxed faster or am I fine doing 20% spread out in the year

Usually you'll prioritize 403(b)-to-match first--you don't want to turn down free money.

But with custodial once they become of age the account is there's right? I do like how it's cheaper on taxes until then but I didn't intend for them to do what they please.

Yes me and the wife are filling up ours and i have not set up. 529 because i feel like i dont want to restrict its access to be for college expenses only. I just want to set money aside and let it grow.

Or should i just add the extra money to my personal investments?

7 dollars per periodic investment for ijs whereas vbr or viov is free correct? Should I just get vbr's mutual fund and call it a day or just get viov?

We'll I wanted to add it to my vanguard account or put into my Ira there so I was interested in a vanguard equal to ijs. And viov is it but volume is so low and vbr isn't quite ijs I wish viov had a mutual fund

I want to invest in I shares small value ijs and viov compares very nicely to it but the daily volume is only 4500 is that scary? Only other vanguard small value would be vbr but it's not that similar to ijs
