Re: Replace keyless remote for 2007 Avalon

I dealt with a similar situation with our 2007 Lexus ES. The dealer quoted over $400 for the replacement. I purchased a used remote fob on ebay and found a local locksmith to reprogram the fob. Total cost was about $110 as I remember. We had no problem with it at all.

Re: 55+ communities - with or without golf course?

Our Del Webb 55+ community has a golf course, but the course is not part of the HOA. It is managed by a private company with no impact on HOA fees. You can choose to join the club with annual dues, or pay per play with a discount for residents. The course is also open to the public. The club has a d...

Re: Del Webb 55+ communities?

We haved lived in this Del Webb community in Ocala, Florida for almost five years. We have no regrets for picking this community or this lifestyle. IMO, you’re really moving into a lifestyle more than a house or neighborhood. We pay $204 monthly HOA fees and feel we get our money’s worth of value. W...

Re: DIY CV axle replacement -any tips from BH who have done this?

No experience with Subaru, but recently replaced both CV axles in our ‘07 Lexus ES350. Only unforeseen problem was the splines on the right front axle were rusted inside the hub just enough to make it seem it was permanently bonded. I didn’t have a hub puller tool and since it was late evening the a...

Traded our 12 year old high mileage car for a 2 year old CPO SUV. Dealer accepted full payment with my Fido VISA card giving an additional 2% discount. Nice unexpected perk. Of course a more frugal move would have been to keep the old car a bit longer. But DW is happy with the new ride.

If you like Verizon coverage, consider Visible wireless. It is Verizon prepaid. Unlimited for $40 including tax. You can turn on hotspot for your labtop or whatever devices you want. It does not have family plan so the cost is $80 for two.
Does Visible support wifi calling?
