I don't have the facts, but I always assumed the logo change was mainly driven by the connection with slavery. I'm sure Mortimer didn't mind sinking the ship logo to distance the company even further from its founder too.
I agree. Buckley did not seem to be a big fan of Bogle.
And I'm NOT a fan of Buckley.
He sunk the ship to get rid of Jack's handprint on VG.
Buckley's ship is nothing more than a piece of driftwood.
VG must never loose sight of Jack Bogle.

OP.... I'm retired but I try to stay very active. I walk about 2 miles (4 days/wk); Lift light, but a little challenging weights 5 days/wk, alternating bench and dumbbells; Pushups, usually 100, 4 days/wk; Racquetball 1 day/wk; Golf 1 day/wk (spring summer fall). I try to limit my time with social media; it can be destructive. I just started with bass guitar. The lessons are online (BassBuzz); the teacher is great; easy going. I can replay the lessons as many times as I want/need. This method really suits me. It's enjoyable and doesn't require a lot of time. I'm not musically talented, but I do have an ear for it. If you are using a Mac/Ipad and you plan on buying individual bonds (treasuries, municipals, corporate), my opinion is for you to go with Fidelity. Access to Fidelity's bond quotes page is much easier than Vanguard. Vanguard's page rendering doesn't play well with Apple Safari.

It might be they are getting the message, Bogleheads are supposed to be sort of a Vanguard fan club and I have read post after post just trashing Vanguard's customer service. The thread regarding the upcoming retirement of the Vanguard CEO was interesting, in my imagination I could hear a lot of champagne corks popping and a lot of celebration. It was like the locker room just after a World Series win. If I recall correctly, when this messaging fiasco started, I did lose it for a brief time.
Somehow, I don't recall how, I gave VG a real blast about it and lo and behold,
it appeared back. I've had it ever since and I'm really glad to have it.

I'm not anywhere near "flagship" status; more like "driftwood" status.

I am closely monitoring VG's website and app.
If I'm happy with what I see, I will consider transferring our IRA accounts back to Vanguard.

I did make a joint account deposit using the VG app on Friday.
I was pleasantly surprised to see it showed within a few minutes on our account; in
the app balance/transaction and website.

For so many years, I would just give 10s right across the board. I loved everything about VG. Then a few years ago I had to start thinking and giving less than 10s in many areas. The Surface Pro is a great alternative to just a tablet.

You can use it with an attachable keyboard, mouse and pencil.
And you can run just about any program on it.
This is one huge limitation for the ipad; you can only run apps from Apple store.

Which one to use? It depends entirely on the user’s intended uses.

Re: Pull-ups and Push-ups

I have a chin-up bar, but don't use it; too hard on my arthritis shoulder.

I like doing push-ups; at least 100-140/4-5 days /wk. (40/40/30; or 5 sets of 30; or whatever).

I also use barbell (about 40lbs) every other day.
Every other "off" day I use dumbbells.

I also do yoga 2 -3 days/wk.

Tuesdays are my racquetball day.

I also have osteoarthritis in left knee, so I try to be very careful working out.

I will say that since I have been using weights for upper body, my arthritis shoulder seems less hurtful.
