Re: Wisconsin Bogleheads group dead?
I can only get the conference room during business hours. I vote for Minerva. I love that place.

Re: Wisconsin Bogleheads group dead?
How about lunch or coffee sometime this summer? Or we could have an actual meeting in a conference room I have access to on the West side of Madison.

Re: Backdoor Roth IRA?
@kenyan thanks for the advice. My non-working wife only has a Roth IRA. It sounds like I can open a Spousal IRA for her and contribute $5,500 into that and then convert it to a Roth IRA.kenyan wrote:Because you have a SEP-IRA, you cannot easily do the Backdoor Roth IRA - your conversion would be subject to the pro rata rule. You should be able to contribute to a spousal (Backdoor Roth) IRA for your wife, though, unless she also has existing Traditional IRAs.

Backdoor Roth IRA?
I am married with two kids and self employed. My wife and I are in our early 30s. She is a stay at home mom. I have been in business for six years and am a one man shop. No employees.
Due to income limits I will not qualify for Roth IRA contributions this year. For 2012 I will be maxing out my HSA and SEP IRA. Everything is in Vanguard target funds and I don't spend the HSA money. I have one year's worth of expenses in my emergency fund.
Can I do a backdoor Roth IRA? If so how?
