For a purchase or a refi, you (the owner) is never required to buy title insurance for yourself. Thanks everyone. The only reason I want to read finance news because I have some play money on the side. I invest most on ETF. For example, if I see big fall in energy sector, i'll consider get energy ETF. :)

Thanks for all your inputs. I didn't know they'll try to get rid of the 75% Platinum Honors Bonus. I was thinking about getting the Gold status. Now I think i'll probably not gonna do it any more and just put all investments with Vanguard.

The new lender is not supposed to charge interest until they send the funds to the settlement agent. That could be days before the old lender...
