Re: Retirement Fund Date has Passed-Question

I don't think there is a fee to do an exchange in my Roth IRA. Of course there would be a difference in share price. I also hold 2035 and my just move it into there but I like to have 3 funds. :)
I hold 2015 2035 and Star.

Re: Retirement Fund Date has Passed-Question

Thank you for your answers. I chose 2015 a while ago based on the current AA (then). Now it is shifting towards a more conservative allocation. I didn't choose it because of the year but because of the allocations.
I like the idea of the Life Strategy Funds and will look into them. I also considered the 2025 as it is closer to what I want. It is a Roth IRA. Thanks again.

Retirement Fund Date has Passed-Question

I have Vanguard Target Retirement Fund 2015 and it has begun shifting the allocation to higher bonds than I want at this time. I am 59 but not ready to retire.I am thinking of shifting a portion or all of 2015 to my 2035 fund. Would that be wise at this time? I have looked at the risk and ER and yields and it seems to be ok but wanted to get some other opinions from this trusted community.
Thank you, good to be back, Terri.

Re: What do you think of this Comcast deal?

I had a really hard time with Comcast when someone tried to "Upgrade" me over the phone. I never agreed to it but they started charging me anyway. I ALWAYS called the local number not the 800 one to get someone in my area. But now I don't have to worry about it because I use an antenna and Netflix and pay $0 for cable.

It was so full of crap it wouldn't drain but luckily it was in the garage and when the drain valve broke off going down a small step it ran out of the garage! New one installed and working!

Re: Termite contract

I did confirm that it is a repair included contract. They come out three times a year and inspect the outside of my house. THey will do an inside inspection if I want to free. They do not treat anymore unless something is found. I guess it is good insurance for the repair, but I still may spray the outside myself.

Interesting. I have a grandfathered in contract which does say they will do all the repairs. I think I'll call them tomorrow to confirm that it is still the case. I suppose $182 is worth the precaution. I do think my neighbor had some termite damage when they fixed some water damage on their roof. Thanks to all.

Termite contract

How many of you pay every year to have your house inspected/treated for termites? Just wondering if this is something I can do myself. Been paying it for almost 20 years, but thinking, never used, can save the $200, and do it myself. Thoughts?

It might be nice to visit for an afternoon of shopping (I personally avoid Georgetown because of the crowds), but the nearest Metro station, Foggy Bottom, is a good distance away. From Google, it looks like your hotel was actually in Foggy Bottom, near the Metro station, not in Georgetown. Foggy Bottom is OK because it's walking distance to the Mall (Lincoln Memorial end) and, yes, Kennedy Center and Georgetown. If OP decides to stay i...
