Re: Federated Institutional High Yield Bond Fund

From what I have read about Bill Gross, I am not so sure that I want to invest in his company's funds. From what I understand, his company charges high fees and their investments do not always have the best yields. What have you read about the managers of the Federated fund that makes you believe t...

Re: Federated Institutional High Yield Bond Fund

I would put the entire portfolio allocation for bonds in the IRA instead of in the 401k if you don't like your options. Laura What I meant is that my 401k will be asset allocation 100% aggressive stocks. For my IRA, I will have for for my asset allocation aggressive stocks(88%) with some bond expos...

Re: Federated Institutional High Yield Bond Fund

I am in the process of joining my employer's 401k program. There are no options for a bond index fund. There is a Federated Institutional High Yield Bond Fund, which is like a corporate bond. There are also PIMCO bond funds; however, I am not interested in those. I would like to know how people thi...

Re: Waiting For a Good Stock to Go Low Enough To Buy

I have a fixed allocation of 80% to stocks in my portfolio. I buy when it is 5% below that allocation for whatever reason. This question is for Rick. What do you think of a 90%/10% stock/bond allocation? From what I have read, Vanguard's Target Retirement 2040 fund is 90% stock. This has been shown ...

Re: Broad Market or Total Market: Does it matter?

Rick,

I am invested in The Total Stock Index Fund, The Total International Stock Index Fund, and The Total Bond Index Fund. Am I right to believe that I am investing in the total market for each asset class?

Re: Bank with a good APY for savings account

Are in NYC area or NJ? I am getting 1.05% APY with the internet division of a local bank. You can open the account online, but I can deposit or withdraw money at a local branch. For some reason this bank does not show up on websites. I am in MO. I looked at the website that you listed. You have to h...

Bank with a good APY for savings account

Hi,

I am looking for a bank with a good interest yield for a savings account. I am currently with Bank of America, which has a zero percent interest yield. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I appreciate any advice.
