Update (Single large position in a single stock - Redfin)

I debated if I was going to update this... I decided to go ahead. Here is the original post: https://www.bogleheads.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=239474 Quick recap: Two years ago, I began investing a large portion of our portfolio in a single stock (Redfin). I have since accumulated 25,052 shares i...

Yes, I understand where I am posting this question, but I figured at least 5% of people surfing this forum could have some input on this. Any strong individual stock purchases? Long term holds? Possibly next Amazon? What do you think will be booming in the next 5, 10, 15 years? Undoubtedly my opini...

Re: what strategy would fit (VYM). High dividend yield

There isn't any magic. Every dollar that a company pays out in dividends is a dollar that the company can't invest in new plant, in marketing, in anything else that will contribute to growth. Of course, if a company is in a "mature" state it may be a very good company that doesn't have much capacit...

Tax surprise - Enhances bear market selloff?

Per numerous media outlets & employer warnings, people were not withholding enough taxes over the course of the 2018 year. As people begin tax preparation season, many will owe more than expected as this was the first year of the new tax laws. Do you think the unexpected increase in taxes owed will ...

Thanks! BTW, I'm not an "insider"! I just felt I understood the company more than the average punter. Not sure where the "insider" bit came into it! Amazon is down 30%+ from recent highs. Probably just like everyone, I have paid a bit more attention to my portfolio of late. Green seems to be a rarely viewed color on the stock market indices recently, reminding me of 10 years ago. Bear Market - Mindset Expectations

The Dow Jones is down ~16% from its all time highs & the Nasdaq hit intraday bear market territory today. Many would agree, we are in the very beginning of a Bear Market.
