Discussions about wedding rings are appropriate as a 'current' expense item, but the OP's question relates to retirement allocation at his age.

Let's not derail this thread with too much focus on a single aspect of current expenditures, as important as that single item may be.

I'd suggest your wife initiate a transfer to her favorite custodian (perhaps Vanguard - since you already have accounts there).
Agree. And have the investment firm that you are transferring the funds to initiate the transfer. I am assuming you want to transfer all the $$ you have at Edward Jones. But I guess transferring just part of your holdings at EJ would work as well.

Your new investment firm will handle all the details (like selling, etc.) after consulting with you.
