I collect and use frequent-traveler points and miles. I am not as good as some people in this Forum (or in FlyerTalk), but even at my level of engagement, playing with points is far more rewarding than playing with the markets.

A persistent cognitive bias is that we are sensitive to quantities rather than amounts. If you want to be financially happy, check your accounts many times when the market is going up and once in a blue moon when it's going down.
