I used the guaranteed program. Your rate of return is the rate of tuition inflation, which you find out in August for the following year. Each college level has it's own inflation rate. In the early 2000's when saving for my son, it was like 4-5%/year, for a private 4-year college. Now, not so much....

FWIW, most BCBS MA plans in the East/Northeast have almost ALL BCBS plans as “in-network.” I.e., sign up for Highmark in PA, Florida Blue providers, as an example, are “in-network.” I think the only Blues plan that does not participate like this is one of the Maryland BCBS plans. YMMV.

The “Horizon” brand is a good consumer treadmill, have 3 models, I think. Looks like they changed the names of the models since I bought mine about a year ago. Yes, pay to have it installed, probably available at a local fitness store.

Walmart or Costco might have a cash price that is much lower. You wouldn’t be using your prescription card. Express Scripts might be getting a rebate on the drug they keep sending you, you will never know that. Worth a call to Walmart or Costco.

I am going to guess that Good Rx and others like it primarily work with people who have HDHP instead of PPO? I don't think PPO's and HDHP's are mutually exclusive. How is the company match handled? It varies, a lot. My match is 6% of eligible income,regardless of my contribution, min contribution is 1%. Even low-income employees can do 1%.

Be careful, not using your insurance may result in those costs NOT being applied to your deductible. If so, that may or may not be a bad thing. You’ll have to really understand your plan, and figure out the best strategy to keep your out of pocket costs as low as possible.
