I have both. I have a 5 year CD ladder for which I'm starting to add Treasuries if the rate is comparable or better. Right now, 1 year Treasuries are at about 2%, which is better than CD's from a state taxation standpoint depending on where you live.

Have ben with GS since they took over GE, and before that. No problems. Also check out Able Bank, now paying 1.7 on savings accounts.

A lot of the output on FireCalc depends on your asset allocation. I suspect that if you retire, your allocation should be less aggressive. You may want to re-run it with different allocations to see what happens.

I gave up. Sold my position in a timely manner, and took profit. Haven't had a position for a couple of years. Now just starting to get back in. This time with a shorter duration TIPS fund.

My Schwab account lists these as "Open to existing investors." Interestingly enough, VMLTX (Limited Term) is still listed as "open."
