Re: AA help- TIAA CREF mess!
We are planning on using her account solely for fixed income assets (bonds). The TIAA Traditional Annuity is offered but after reading about it, I still don't understand what it is, and I don't feel comfortable investing in something I don't understand. Basically TIAA Trad Annuity is similar to a s...

You might want to read the following thread that appeared in the Morningstar TIAA-CREF forum:

Re: PenFed Platinum Rewards Credit Card
I just filled out the online form during lunch hour today and managed to get the card without a hassle (I guess). They just asked my monthly salary and house payment.
They claimed I've been approved. We'll see if I get the card in a weeks time.

Broadband Internet Access For Laptop Software Question
We recently bought a Mac Pro Laptop and Verizon's Broadband Internet Access (USB card) for it. In general it appears to work really well. One thing that we have noticed, however, if we leave the USB card in the laptop when we are not using it, when we try to connect again after 5 or 10 minutes, we h...

I know a person shouldn't pick a fund based on performance, but I can honestly say the TIAA Real Estate fund is still performing wonderfully in this down market. If you go to the TIAA-CREF website and research the fund, you will see that the price per unit on July 2, 2007 was $294.4692. As of 2/14/0...

Which version of Turbo Tax?
For those of you who use Turbo Tax, can a person use Basic or Deluxe to handle investments (capital gains/losses) or is the Premiere required?
Also can you file electronically with the CD version or only with the online version?
Thanks,
Shirley

Website that follows Mortgage Rates?
My son needs to refinance his home within the next two years. Interest rates are currently down, but we have noticed daily fluctuations. Does anyone know of a website that tracks mortgage rates on a daily basis? I realize the daily changes aren't that much different, but to him, a 5.75% rate is quit...

selling specific shares?
Can I tell a mutual fund company to sell only specific shares? If I have a fund that I have diced and spliced into over a timeframe, can I sell the "high" priced shares so that I can take a tax loss? If so, how do I tell them which shares to sell? Can I then turn around and buy the shares ...

historical performance
Does anyone have the annual performance returns from 1987 to 1996 on the following funds:
VPMCX - PrimeCap Fund
VWIGX - International Growth
VBMFX - Total Bond Market
VWINX - Wellesley
I've looked at the Vanguard's prospectuses online, but they start with 1997.
Thanks.
