Fix it yourself, write what happened in an online review and move on.

Lets say you do call to complain, now what? You have to schedule time for them to come out and fix it, no show or show up late, not have the right part, then come back again.

Sounds like you have the right idea. Vanguards prime money market is paying a couple of % right now with pretty much zero risk so that might be a better option for that portion of your portfolio.
