FYI- with Ally Bank, even if your saving account goes to $0 it remains open indefinitely, until you call/ contact them to officially close it.

Yup- Vangaurd is definitely a better choice, with a yield of 2.48% on a $1000 deposit should net me $25 in interest for the year - not a lot but it does add up-

And that same $1000 deposit in BoA saving act for one year, gave me a whopping 0.34 cents-

If you have your passports, check out a cruise leaving out of Florida, It can be fairly cheap if you book a inside cabin-- foods included( that were you save). And you can really find some great deals last minute.
