I am a bigger fan of PurePoint but just recently opened an account at Ally. I cannot comment on their customer service because I have not used it. I read in this forum that people favor Ally because it has a great track record and that is the reason that they have received some of my investment.

Still rocking my 6S from 3+ years ago. Replaced the battery last year and will likely do it again within a year.

If you have the 6S or the SE, I’m not sure there’s a great reason to upgrade unless you really need animated emojis.

Sometimes it is best to do nothing. In the past Apple has indicated the best malware detection program is not to get one; they did not recommend any. Recently Apple did recommend Malwarebytes free program. I have used it for a few months without issue. Certainly stay away from MacKeeper.

What's the point when Vanguard MM are paying more than that?

I felt I would mention this because some might prefer a FDIC protected investment. And because it appears to be one of the highest rates offered by a bank. And because bank savings rates are sometimes discussed on this forum

Looks like PurePoint has a $10k minimum as well (I tried them before but forgot about that) and is still only savings, no checking. I only use audible books. "Two Years Before The Mast" is a great book more than 150 years after it was written. "The Forgotten Soldier" by Guy Sajer made me realize how blessed is my life.

Without notice, my account now shows a savings rate 1.6% in a FDIC covered account with minimum restrictions. I have used them for a almost a year with zero issues. Is there anything superior to that in a guaranteed account?

I just went through 266 posts about Ally bank on another thread. Why not PurePoint? They offer 1.4% without any fees whatsoever with only a 10K minimum. I have it tied to a Chase checking account and so far it has been both seamless and highly professional.

Thank you for all your responses. I currently have an online bank that pays 1.4% with minimal restrictions. For me, there are too many hoops to negotiate to obtain an extra half a point interest.

I rather naively update ASAP. BTW, Sierra had been replaced by High Sierra: Version 10.13. It is available at the app store. I upgraded a couple of days ago without any problems.
