Re: Trust Services

Wanted to contribute and hopefully save others time...we're looking for a corporate co-trustee and i've spoken with Fidelity, Vanguard, and Wilmington Trust (referred by the lawyer who created my late sister's trust and now has been assisting us). Fidelity doesn't seem to have their act together, wi...

Re: locking in kids' [life] insurance status

Thank you again, including rainyday1 for sharing the unfortunate passing of their sibling years ago. my condolences. Based on the feedback of wisdom and experience, going to pass on buying WL to lock in best health status insurance. FYI that this wasn't because they are kid models or whatever else, ...

Re: locking in kids' LIFE insurance status

Trust me when i say i think about this family every day, which is why I think about something so distant in the kids' future now. in fact, suggesting WL for the kids now was my idea, not an insurance agent's sales pitch. Ok so it sounds like 2 of 2 think its not a good idea to buy whole life for the...

locking in kids' [life] insurance status

I know a family of 5 with 3 kids under 12. The father has physical and mental issues, and the mother is terminally ill with cancer. Concern is the kids future ability to afford life insurance of any kind with this background. I'm told right now, they can get 'best health' status with at least one re...

Re: (another) whole life challenge

i'm humbled by the smart responses and laughing at some of the humorous comments as i read this after a now 18 hr day and a beer to celebrate its conclusion. fortunately the buying process for life insurance is time consuming that gives me time to reconsider/switch to term if needed. i need to revie...

Re: (another) whole life challenge

so the IRR on the whole life if run with a 3% projected return is 2.5% in 30 years (assuming that's not fudged on the table provided by nwm) versus 2.66% treasury rate right now (I believe whole life has fixed income characteristics and choose to benchmark against it and not equities). so near even....

Re: (another) whole life challenge

Thx for the responses. Few comments: * to be clear back, NOT AT ALL associated to the life insurance industry. I have some friends I keep in touch with that work at a managed care company tied to health insurance, but that’s as close as I get. I am only posting to figure out what to do with my famil...

(another) whole life challenge

Hi, I ran into this site through one of the mainstream financial magazines a few months back. i've read quite a bit on whole life insurance and know this forum isn't fond of them, but i'm still not convinced. I realize i may get slammed by the group, but i'd rather it be from this group than my pock...

Re: Whole Life Agent Email

to be fair to the guy, he has the right to make up his own mind even if its in the minority of the blog, no harm in that i would think.
