Have you stored it in a password manager? Spreadsheet? Written it down anywhere?
Not saved in a password manager or browser but I have hints written down in a spreadsheet, but it's not the whole thing... I'll have to check for a potential rootkit though.

Re: Being locked out of my account and "research team" will contact me in 72 hours

The rep seemed to indicate that the person tried different passwords and different usernames, not the same username with a lot of passwords all at once. What's odd is that I don't use that username often and the password is unique, which is the scary part. Now the username isn't used anywhere else a...

Re: Being locked out of my account and "research team" will contact me in 72 hours

Vanguard called today, this department was located in Phoenix, and they just set me up with a new login. It turns out the original code was sent because someone successfully logged in after trying a lot of different logins. They didn't get access because they didn't have the code sent to my phone, t...

Re: Being locked out of my account and "research team" will contact me in 72 hours

I think of my money in buckets with different timelines. Those funds at Vanguard have a 5+ year timeline (with much of it, it's decades), meaning I don't expect to need them within the next five years, so this is a headache but doesn't really impact me. Anything I expect to need in the nearer future...

Re: Being locked out of my account and "research team" will contact me in 72 hours

They said business hours but they meant 3 business days. I asked specifically because the phrase 72 business hours is pretty awkward.

I don’t know if I can transact, I just don’t have online access. I didn’t ask about transactions. I’ll update when I know more.

Thanks for all the advice, I think it just caught me off guard and the vagueness was unsettling. I’ll wait it out.

Thanks all!

Re: Being locked out of my account and "research team" will contact me in 72 hours

Yeah, it's just disconcerting they can't provide me more information since it is my account. They can ask me questions, confirm my identity, and then talk it through with me. The fact that it's "we can't say anymore" seem odd.

Being locked out of my account and "research team" will contact me in 72 hours

This morning, out of the blue, I get sent a code from Vanguard for the 2-factor verification on the account despite not having tried to log in. I call, talk to a rep, and they say it's probably just Yodlee or another aggregator trying to log in. This has never happened before but I let it go. I try ...

Re: Bank of America credit card “feature” (be careful with autopay)

Stinks it still went through (but like others, it sounds like you paid after they scheduled it), but why did you manually pay when you had autopay set up already?

Put down another vote in the sell column. You never know what can happen like a flood or fire. :(

If you ever do get the urge to want to play them, chances are you can find an emulator!

Re: Teeth Whitening

I'd try the Crest strips at home to see how effective they are before shelling out the hundreds (and hours) for the "professional" work. It may be enough to get them white enough to your satisfaction.

Re: Net Worth Calculation - Am I Doing It Right? (Individual vs Joint Figures)

I'd clarify with your insurance broker (or call the insurer's toll free line if you are buying direct). They'll be able to tell you what they consider to be "right". And ask how important t is to be accurate. You don't want to go spending hours on a question when they'll spend mere seconds on the a...

Re: gaming the mortgage interest deduction

Wouldn't you be better off just gifting them money and having them give you the house in their will? (I'm not a lawyer so not sure about the legality of this type of handshake agreement) You'd get the stepped up basis in the house, your gifts to them would be tax-free assuming you send them less tha...
