In our rentals a box and raceway(pipe to an open area) to prevent the cable "installers from drilling through the outside of the house.

Re: Enjoying the journey to retirement

After working at a physical job for 40+ years I am starting the get ready to go process. About 1 year. I work a little each day on the "R Project" as the wife calls it. A couple of Excel sheets. This helps me get going the next day as each seems to get worse. I cant wait for the next phase...

Another option is to have the existing pipe filmed.
A small camera is put into the drain and it is inspected. Couple hundred bucks.

Re: Car totaled now what?

I have always been of the mindset to have multiple cars. The thought was Id rather not miss a day of work due to car trouble or in a situation like yours have the time to make a well thought out decision. What ever your decision on the next car you will not be in a rush or hurried. As others have al...

Re: House too small; what to do?

My wife and I raised 5 kids in a similar sized home. We used the thought process of less payment ment better vacations, monthly adventures and a motor home for camping trips, 30+ nights out per year. We taught the children to learn to live together, share one bathroom and become friends as well as si...

My thought is the person who found the apt. and pays the bill pays 33% the next couple to sign on 33% and the 3rd couple 33%. This is for the work the original couple did to find the place and the risk one couple does not pay.

I also have a Rubicon 2004 all the options. Only 31K on the odo but still worth what I paid for it almost 7 years ago. If maintained and a good one to begin with it will hold its value. That is for a Wrangler only.

Re: When to replace timing belt on 1998 Honda Accord

The problem with not changing the belt at the recommened interval is the risk of failure. If the belt does brake the repair is alot more then $650 as this is an interference engine. This means if the belt breaks the valves in the head hit the pistons and cause this to become a 1000 to $1500 job. Thi...

Re: Why does my lawnmower leave a stripe?

I will go along with the blade theory. As it is cutting for only a short amount of time at the front and rear on the mower while alot longer at the sides. pickup and install a new blade. Sharpen or have a mower sharpen the old blade for a spare.

She needs to make the decision her self as to what will be done. The Ramsey book is decent but taking the classes at a local church is MUCH more exciting. It may give her the kick in the pants to get started. All the people in the class getting excited is a good boost. This may be a way to help her ...

My interpretation of the "3 days" is for the rental car only.
The amount they want to give her IS negotiateable.

Weve had those visit us a time or 1000. The moth balls kept them out of the bushes in front of our house. Im also in IL. and we too have to pay to have them caught and removed. The inspectors will not walk up to you house and tell you to change it. They "may" tell you to change it if you request a permit for a different project. It all depends on the zoning board and how THEY want to see YOUR neighborhood. When you apply for a permit snotty towns will say you mus...

A different way to look at it is how much do you have to charge for rent. Dont forget mortgage payment,TAXES, home owners insurance and anything else you can add. Add all these up and it will be more than they can afford. That way THEY say to you its to expensive and you dont have to say no. THEY sa...

I go for the 2 or more vehicles. Older ones, cheap insurance, lower cost, option to use a different one if I want. Ive never had a job, until recently, that had sick or paid holidays. So getting to work was manditory. I like the lower cost factor. Probably just me but thats my opinion.
