If you are completely new to the process, my best advice is to not overthink it. Find someone who's rates seem comparable to the rates on bankrate.com, lenderfi.com, and aimloan.com. Use whomever will have a "no cost" (no added fees) during home buying process. Focus solely on getting the best house...

I went ahead and submitted the application. I will be content with the 2.625% 15-year rate for the long-term. A little bummed I didn't get as good of deal on the fees as everyone else, but I don't want to miss out on the rate.

My Emergency Fund is mostly at Ally. I have $10k in Treasury Direct (iBond) that I've been thinking about moving back to Ally just to keep things simple. There's a lot to be said for simplicity rather than trying to squeeze out every penny chasing Interest rates.
