just finished a 2 month long insurance claim (12K) because of a defective WH relief valve. Crack in pan, water got under hardwood floors. Moved WH out to the garage.

beautiful views on so many highways in Colorado. The Million Dollar highway (Ouray to Durango) is one of my favorites. Depends on how much driving your comfortable with.

Cheaper to have a tree cut down than have it fall on it's own exposing the root ball. Tree companies then have to bring in a front loader to remove the root ball, adding to the cost.

When you install Windows 10, your previous version of Windows is kept in case you don't like the new version – or you encounter any problems. I've found Windows 10 to be much faster than 7.

retired fed here, I would not give more than 3 months notice. There are 1.4 million civilian fed employees, not to sound crass, but you'll miss them more than they'll miss you. Life goes on.

Do yourself a favor and spend a little more. $250 to 375. Get yourself an Echo, straight shaft model with Speedfeed 350 or 450 head. At the same time pick up a 1000 yard spool of 0.95 dia line. This is the easiest trimmer head to load and it holds a bunch of line so your are not constantly restring...

I retired and left NoVa (Great Falls) because of the traffic and sprawl. It was a quality of life issue. Moved to Delaware beach area. Don't miss metro DC at all.

My brother was in a hospice facility, after a few days we were called in and told if he didn't die in a couple days we'd have to find another place for him to go. He died the next day.

make sure to add about 15% for assorted taxes to whatever the room rate might be. Many have "resort" fees on top of room rates too. So $200 is going to be hard to find.

Amtrak is an hour quicker than the bus (3.5 hrs versus 4.5) I stayed at the Row hotel last visit, (formerly the Milford Plaza) at 8th Ave and 43rd street near the theatre district and Times Square. Would stay there again, very walkable location.
