I did the $60 for 12 months the other day, wife wanted it ...meh. Only advice I would give would be choose whatever cheap subscription that has the longest terms. It's a PITA to call and go through the retention department.

I wouldn't count on sitting next to someone on an airplane until after Labor Day. Airlines may open incrementally allowing for someone to sit in every third row. Prices would be expensive.

CVT transmission was replaced in our 2014 Forester at 51,000 miles. Subaru has extended the warranty on those transmissions to 100K miles. Had a loaner for 4 days. That was a year ago.

The only value Zillow has is reporting the sold prices of houses. Everything else they do is subjective neighborhood figures that may have little to do with your own property.

Replacing a water heater is not rocket science. HD hires licensed plumbers. Unless they are more expensive, I wouldn't give it a second thought

I retired 3 years before my wife did. Technically you're retired, but if your spouse is still working it's not retirement, you're just not working anymore. Retirement means doing what you want, when you want. As long as your spouse is still working, that doesn't apply.

Look at a Honda S2000. More fun than a Miata. You can find nice ones still around. I bought a new one in 2007, weekend top down car, and sold it 9 years later for 4K less than I paid for it.

Retired at 55, live comfortably with a defined benefit pension, never have to worry about running out of income. It was the right decision for me.

This is no different than taking your car to a repair shop for "free" a 32 point inspection, whatever they find, they'll be happy to set up another appointment to repair the damage. They don't "fix it" during the inspection.

Air conditioning
Head unit - radio
Transmission
Rear wheel bushing

never charged for any of it, transmission failed last month
