Replacing a water heater is not rocket science. HD hires licensed plumbers. Unless they are more expensive, I wouldn't give it a second thought

Re: Paying for rent is throwing away money...myth?

My parents bought their forever house in 1958. They paid 20K for the house they built and the land cost was 5K (5 acres). The adjacent 5 acre lot was for sale but my dad thought $1K an acre was too much and didn't buy it. When my mom past away in 2007 I sold their home for 2 million. This was in Gre...

there's no guarantees in today's wacky world of air travel, you can be moved 2 hours after takeoff. Wife and I were flying from Zurich to Boston a couple of months ago on an early evening flight. I retired 3 years before my wife did. Technically you're retired, but if your spouse is still working it's not retirement, you're just not working anymore. Retirement means doing what you want, when you want. As long as your spouse is still working, that doesn't apply.

Look at a Honda S2000. More fun than a Miata. You can find nice ones still around. I bought a new one in 2007, weekend top down car, and sold it 9 years later for 4K less than I paid for it.

Just a reminder to middle aged adults co-signing for student loans. If you're left to pay federally insured student loans and don't pay them off, the Social Security Administration will deduct up to 15% of your SS monthly payment to recoup the dollars you didn't pay back.

hire an attorney, with or without one, contrition in court will get it reduced to a lesser charge in most all cases. I wouldn't follow the advice from lifehacker here. If you have questions, save them for court. The officer already told you why you were stopped and given a ticket.
