Re: Airbnb - Anyone running one?

Operated a home we have at the beach as Airbnb for 3 months a year (summer). Overall positive experience. $20,000 + each summer but we cleaned it ourselves between rentals. If you do it, keep away from instant bookings, people have to communicate with us prior to us accepting their request to book. ...

there's no guarantees in today's wacky world of air travel, you can be moved 2 hours after takeoff. Wife and I were flying from Zurich to Boston a couple of months ago on an early evening flight. Plane almost completely full, fortunate for us the final two rows were empty in a 2-4-2 seating setup al...

I retired 3 years before my wife did. Technically you're retired, but if your spouse is still working it's not retirement, you're just not working anymore. Retirement means doing what you want, when you want. As long as your spouse is still working, that doesn't apply.

Look at a Honda S2000. More fun than a Miata. You can find nice ones still around. I bought a new one in 2007, weekend top down car, and sold it 9 years later for 4K less than I paid for it.

This is no different than taking your car to a repair shop for "free" a 32 point inspection, whatever they find, they'll be happy to set up another appointment to repair the damage. They don't "fix it" during the inspection.

Just a reminder to middle aged adults co-signing for student loans. If you're left to pay federally insured student loans and don't pay them off, the Social Security Administration will deduct up to 15% of your SS monthly payment to recoup the dollars you didn't pay back.

hire an attorney, with or without one, contrition in court will get it reduced to a lesser charge in most all cases. I wouldn't follow the advice from lifehacker here. If you have questions, save them for court. The officer already told you why you were stopped and given a ticket.
