Re: Does the cruise ship sinking make you reconsider cruisin
I've never been on a cruise, and never wanted to. The sinking is just the cherry on top of the icing on top of the cake that pretty much solidifies the fact that I will never go on one. Something about being stuck on a boat and being herded in and out of ports doesn't sound fun to me...I'd rather stay at a resort that I can come and go from at my leisure.

Re: Did you ever regret your career choice
It is interesting that so many people regret their career choice. Here is a list I found of the top majors based on job satisfaction and popular appeal:
-Food Science
-Anthropology
-Physical Therapy
-Viticulture
-Foreign Language
-Actuarial Science
-Comparative Religion
-Environmental Engineering
-Film Studies
-Psychology
Funny because I don't see many people making much money with any of those bachelors degrees save for food science, physical therapy, and environmental engineering. I know they say money doesn't buy happiness but, you need to make some $$ in order to live comfortably...guess these peoples careers are more rewarding than a high salary?

Re: Books for kids to read on Investing, Finance, Economics,
For kids, I like Anna the Bookbinder, Caps for Sale, and Together in Pinecone Patch...all good books that teach about economic history, goods, and consumers.

Re: Williams Sonoma - what is worth buying there?
I have purchased several non-stick pans from them that I love. I use them everyday. They also have great hand soap and lotions. I would go for some cookbooks though. I have several of the cookbooks that they sell. I recommend any of Ina Garten's books. They have a lot of great "thirty minute meal" type books, too, if you are too busy to cook feasts regularly!

Re: Reading on Kindle or Kindle for PC at work
I would make sure you aren't violating any policies or rules before you decide to read at work. I would also use Kindle for PC rather than your actual Kindle - that way you are not blatantly reading your Kindle. I hope your work picks up soon because it is very frustrating having little to do on the job. But hey, I guess it is better than being insanely busy! :lol

Re: Would you trade all of your wealth to be 20 again?
I definitely wouldn't. Being 20 is overrated. I'm still young, and looking back at my 20 year old self, I see a dumb kid full of stupid decisions and lack of initiative. You learn from your mistakes, and I don't want to go back and make them again.

Re: Is it rude to speak in a foreign language in the workpla
I think it IS rude. First, you are alienating your co-workers. Second, they will not only feel that you are alienating them but, they may go as far as to assume that you are talking about them. This seems to be the thoughts of several posters. The OP was not doing anything wrong but, it is perhaps more considerate to speak in English in the workplace. In the end, it is your personal choice - you aren't violating any rules but, if you want to continue the team dynamic, consider your coworkers feelings and perhaps their over-reaching possibly assumptions. The OPs coworker was perhaps out of line saying that but, at least they were putting their feelings on the table. No one likes keeping issues to themselves in the workplace. OP, you can take...
