Anything as simple as an exposed nail-head can cause a leak. A lot of times the heat and ice can push the roofing nails up through the shingles and you have to hammer them back down and put some silicone over the top. I wish I hadn’t been held back - frankly got bored my last couple years of high school and was ready to move on. As an example I took no schoolwork home my JR and SR years. It was a waste of time.

As mentioned Scott's has a program you can follow. I use a lawn service myself, then spot spray violets which are aggressive in my neighborhood. If you follow the Scott's program make sure you follow the crabgrass application closely. There is a window of time in the Spring that you need to apply it...

If she’s only planning on being there a year or two it is debatable. I sold mine when I got a company car almost a decade ago - it’s one of my favorite perks of the job. Drive a new car every couple years? Yes please.

The local trades companies where I am (HVAC, plumbing, etc) all ask for payment on the spot after finishing the work.

I would call again and ask for a bill, or if they are local just stop in and let them know I’d like to settle up what I owe. They’ll probably be happy to see you.

I would use a lawyer. Whatever fee you pay them (a few hundred bucks?) is well worth the chance of not getting that on your record. Keep in mind many prospective employers check your driving record as part of a background check.

Suggest using a Total Stock Market and/or Total International Index fund as both are relatively tax efficient.

Rebalance in tax deferred vehicles to maintain AA and not generate capital gains.

If your choices are restricted to buying CDs or paying off the mortgage, then I would pay off the mortgage at current interest rates.

I would give myself more options and utilize the taxable account for a Total International Stock Market Index at current valuations.

I have the exact same mortgage rate. I am not going to pay it off early as interest rates are going up, inflation is starting to creep up and assuming wages follow the low mortgage rate of 3.625% is a great deal.

I would invest the money. The the higher the ratio of passive investment income you can get that is subject to the lower capital gains rate (vs ordinary rate) the better.

I received it as a college sophomore in 2006 and the credit I built with it helped me get approved for a home loan in 2009.
