When logging in to my account the verification code is sent to my wife's smartphone. I then have to request the code be sent to my smartphone.

When she logs into her account the code goes to her smartphone.

I wonder if this is due to some Vanguard IT actions or a very clever ploy by my wife to track my activity.

Hmmm.......

That is what we have done pre and post retirement.

Re: Lump sum pension offer / Second IRA?

fwiw I retired from megacorp in 2019 and took the lump sum option, placed it into a rollover IRA. In August of 2023 I received an email stating that my pension payment would start 08/21/2023. This made no sense to me since I took the lump sum and would not be entitled to a monthly pension payment. Searching the internet I discovered megacorp had sold off a portion of their pension obligations to an insurance company in May 2023. I contacted Fidelity ( record keeper for megacorp retirement plans) who confirmed that the pension payment was a true up. Apparently the original lump sum payout was incorrect. I was in a group of 2200 employees who had adjustments made to their pension payout. The payout was placed into the rollover IRA. I would ad...

The high net worth team is an illusion when it comes to customer service. Functional teams handle things like acct and wire transfers, not efficient to have multiple teams trained for core operational functions. High net worth
might get you to front line support faster, but does not matter when the actual operational tasks are performed.
HNW teams are also better trained to part you and your money with premium services (sales oriented).
