As long as our kids are making good choices we help generously. She is working diligently and saving 20% in 401K, so we put $5500 in Roth IRA for her as reward. Generous birthday gifts. Pay her expenses whenever she wants to fly to see us, or attend family functions. Keep her on our cell phone plan....

Only complaint is that Acura dealer service seems to be more costly than Toyota and Honda service for similar service. I suspect that it is an upcharge for the luxury brand name. Why not just take it to a Honda dealer for service? Seems to get mentioned a lot on BH that a big advantage of Acura/Lex...

You might want to confirm the start date of coverage with new employer. Years ago my wife took job where coverage did not start till the first of the month plus 90 days after employment commenced.

I still remember Vanguard sending out a letter to its shareholders in late 1999 or early 2000 highlighting the effect that the tech run up had on index 500 and particularly index growth fund's lack of diversification.

Muni bonds have been more volatile than similar duration treasury or corporate bonds for the last month or so. I believe that it is related to uncertainty how proposed tax legislation will affect the municipal bond market.

Stay under $250,000 FDIC limit.
Likely to get slightly better yields by buying on secondary market as opposed to new issues. Likely will have to pay a little above par. The fraction above par is not FDIC insured.

Costco cuts their steaks too thick.
Lobels is awesome but very expensive.
Allen Brothers is slightly lower quality but a much better value.

Slight tinkering. A little shorter duration as the yield curve as flattened. A little more in CDs as opposed to corporates as the corporate to treasury spread has narrowed. Nibbling at TIPs in the 7-10 year range whenever real yield gets above 0.5%.
