I'm also in a slow dying industry where the company is offering a similar package, only problem is that i'm in my mid 40s with kids. If I were 10 years younger, would definitely take the package in a second. For now, will just milk it and see how long I survive.

They dont have the best security. Just had someone use my debit card in Amsterdam (while I am here in US) and Penfed didnt block the transaction. Its taking weeks to get it fixed by them. Chase is so much better.

No cable tv or subscriptions here, only ATT fiber internet which is $50/month.
Sold car in 2020 and switched to bicycle so saving on car insurance.
Haven't found any solution for homeowner insurance...

Update: We had two huge storms this summer (4" of rain in an hour). The first one was no problem for us other than a power outage for a few hours. Last night was the second one and the street was flooded because the two storm drains were completely clogged from debris blown down by high winds....

We got 20x windows replaced with Window World ~ ~ 8 years back - great experience, low price, good quality, and clean install. Very happy with WW.
I got a bunch of quotes when I was shopping...Just because it's expensive doesn't mean it's better.

I have my retirement account and one of the brokerage accounts heavily invested in VTI Trying not to have all eggs in one basket..... Some basket is still better than no basket. With your income, your savings are very low. What are your typical monthly expenses? Really need to live below your means...

Op, to be blunt, your problem isn't income, it is expenses.
Clearly you are living beyond your means and have saved almost nothing in the 24% income tax bracket.
If you continue this path, you'll have to declare bankruptcy in 3-5 years and will just have social security to live by.

The bean counters at Vanguard decided to increase allocation to international funds in all their target date funds ~ 10 years back. What a disaster in terms on timing!
Since then they have been talking about the new economy and waiting for intl to work out better.
