When should you consider removing the collision coverage on a car?

I drive a 2012 Fiat 500 with close to 110,000 miles on it. The car is in excellent condition but has an extremely low resale value which to me doesn't matter as I will probably drive it for at least 4 more years. My yearly insurance premium currently sits at right around $500/year. It would save me ...

OP, I think it would be un-neighborly to start a conflict over this or call in an inspector. This is not your property and, to a large extent, not your business. Creating bad blood with a neighbor could lead to years of misery. If you feel endangered (which doesn’t seem to be the case), I would hav...

If you fix the car and drive it 5 years, yah, it's a good bet. Where else are you going to drive a car with 25K miles for $300 a year? +1 That low mileage is so attractive that I would have the rust repair done. With the work done it doesn't sound like you'd have any reason to replace the vehicle s...

Should I spend $1,500 on getting some rust repaired on a 15 year old Buick

My Dad has stopped driving at age 91 and has offered me his 2003 Buick Century that has only 25,000 miles on it. For the most part it is in showroom condition except for the rocker panels and two front fenders. I found someone that will put two new fenders on and fix the rocker panels for around $1,...

Tires on a 15 year old car....Replace or not?

I recently inherited a 2003 Buick Century with under 25,000 miles on the clock. The tires still have tread and show no signs of dry rot. Should I replace the tires just to be on the safe side? The car will only be used to and from my GF job 2 miles away.
