You don't need a new car and you don't need AWD. What you need are winter tires - tires designed to perform optimally in low temperatures and on ice and snow. Even a RWD vehicle like your IS will perform much, much better than the best AWD system with "all-season" tires. I put "all-season" in quote...

I bought a brand new leftover stripped down 1989 Mazda 323 for 6 grand in 1990. No a/c no radio 5 speed. Drove it for 12 years and put 225,000 miles on it and it was still running strong when I sold it for $500. I would have kept it but the body was so rusted I didn't feel safe driving it.

I'm retired and I actually enjoy detailing my cars. I wash about once a week and usually vacuum and clean the interior about twice a month. My car is a 2012 with a 120,000 miles and looks brand new. I do suffer from OCD though :D

I would never under any circumstance lease a car. Even if I was only keeping it for a short time I would still pay cash and only drive what I could afford.

Well we decided to sell Dads car and was thrilled to get $4,000 from gentleman that wanted it as a second car. Glad I passed on the rust repair.

I let my emotions get the best of me and I agree that selling the stock is the correct route to take......I used to tell my Parents that they were taking a huge risk holding all this stock in one company. I guess I knew the correct answer all along. Thanks for the advice.

I retired 8 years ago this week at age 49 and I'm still up most days by 6am. Quick cup of coffee and then a 3-5 mile walk. I lost 75 pounds about a year ago and I have not gained any weight back.

Tires on a 15 year old car....Replace or not?

I recently inherited a 2003 Buick Century with under 25,000 miles on the clock. The tires still have tread and show no signs of dry rot. Should I replace the tires just to be on the safe side? The car will only be used to and from my GF job 2 miles away.

You will never be able to match the previous color. I had some water damage on a ceiling and my painter said the only way to do it correctly is to repaint the entire ceiling in that room.

Biggest bang for the buck was under cabinet lighting. Built my house 15 years ago and passed on them. Did a refresh of the kitchen and added them and absolutely love them. Also love the quartz countertop.

We have a huge dealership in the Buffalo NY area that charges $15 any car any make. They do it to get your car on the lift and to see what else they can fix. I politely decline and I'm usually in and out within a half hour and no appointment needed. And yes that includes a filter.

My 2012 Fiat 500 is officially the most dependable car I have ever owned

110,000 trouble free miles and is a blast to drive. I bought it from a private owner with only 600 miles on it in November of 2012 for 10K. Other than normal maintenance I have not had a single issue.

My GF is turning in her lease and they said the tread on two of the tires are at 3/32 and they wanted to charge us $300 for two new tires. Anything below 4/32 and they need to be replaced. I found two used ones that matched what was on the car with 5/32 of tread and they cost me $80 for both install...

Stop going to the dealer.....You should be able to buy 4 tires for that price. I just paid $149 for lifetime alignments. And yes you should get a wheel alignment or check it each time you buy tires. Good luck.
