Re: What are you driving? And would you buy your current ride again?

2011 VW GTI. Best car I've ever owned. Would purchase another one assuming there is a hybrid or EV options. 2016 GTI here. I love it - perhaps still the best "all-around" car out there for someone that wants a sporty, useful, comfortable, not ostentatious and moderately economical car. I had a 2012...

2012 Fiat 500 and believe it or not it has been problem free with just about 100,000 miles on it. And yes I would buy another.

Most tire companies will not let honor the mileage warranty until the tires are down to 2/32.

Re: I'm thinking about cashing completely out of equites....

Hello Harrington, Age 56 - Age 100 = 44 more years to go. I think a 50/50 stock/bond mix is perfect. If you sell out you will have a tax consequence. I would hang tough for yourself, estate, children, gifting, etc. Just don't pay any attention to it & go have a good time. Whatever happens, happens....

Re: I'm thinking about cashing completely out of equites....

I'm 56 years old and I have all the money I will ever need based on my lifestyle (boring). With the market overdue for a correction does it ever make sense to completely liqudate ones exposure to risk. I'm currently at a 50/50 mix. Thoughts? When do you plan to retire? Will you have pension income?...

I just read an article describing this situation, this morning. You may find the article interesting, if you wish to reduce or eliminate equity exposure entirely.

Sure, you could have bought a used car. But you love this one, you feel safe in it, and you can afford it. I think second guessing this purchase is a waste of your energy. Just enjoy it and move on.

I never do it but I hear all the commercials around this time for the service. Mine is 16 years old and have never even had a repair. I change the filter once a year and that's it. Same for the A/C. Thoughts?
