The remote controls the channels but not the volume. The remote will change volume indicator on FIOS but the level of volume does not change. I do not have any special sound bar. I only have what came with the TV and the Fios box.

I originally posted this topic in the wrong forum. One reply suggested that I should get furniture from Ikea, which I think is a very good idea. Apparently, the furniture they sell comes in pieces.

Thank you for the replies. The problem is solved. I had already removed the door knob and latch. I applied some silicone spray to the latch and used a tool to insert into the hole and turned it back and forth a few times. I reattached the latch and then the screwed the door knob back into its place....

Remove the door knob from the door and re-assemble the two halves outside of a door and see if it turns. if it does you have some sort of binding issue with the door knob or latch. You can try applying powdered graphite to the various movable areas of the know and latch. Or just buy a new doorknob....

I have no idea about the duration of a bear market but my guess would be that its intensity might be more severe than what we experienced in 2008/2009. If your time horizon is long and if risk tolerance is high, this issue should not matter much to you.

Does anyone know when the new tax law goes into effect? Do the changes apply to income and deductions for 2017 or does is start for income and deductions for 2018? Most provisions are for 18. Some are for 19. Some are just 18 and 19. One, the 7.5% medical deduction, is retroactive to 17. Thank you....
