Toilet Makes A Flushing Sound Occasionally

I wanted to see if anyone could identify what the cause of my toilet issue might be? My toilet will occasionally make a noise that sounds like the tank is filling. Then, water slowly goes into the toilet for about 5 seconds and stops. My guess is that either there is an issue with the flapper or the...

Depending on what the inside of the door looks like and your aesthetics, the least complicated and most secure fix is to get a couple bolts that extend past the door a 1/2", a couple 1/2" diameter or so washers, and a couple nuts for the bolts. That should hold it. That method worked great. I picke...

We used Bella Cera engineered wood. We bought in mainly because it matched the color scheme and it looked really good. It is very dark and glued on. It can chip and scratch, but luckily with a black floor marker you can color the divits and it isn't noticeable. It is hand carved and distressed so i...

The weird thing is that if you look at the inside of the door, there is a hole that looks like it should align with the center of the handle but There is no hole in the center of the handle. It might just mean that a part fell or broke off.

I'm confused about what's going on. You have another door with this type of handle, and that one has something on the inside that the handle attaches to, but this one does not? So you are missing a piece?

Another option that works in many case. Like many of the previous suggestions to fill the hole. Try using a wooden golf tee. It is tapered and can be tapped in and either snip or cut off.
Interesting. Would I then put screws into the golf tees?

If you don't care what it looks like on the inside, you can cut (or have cut) a small piece of wood to attach to the inside which would give you something to screw into. You'll, of course, need longer screws.
That is a good idea

It is a hollow door and there is nothing on the other side of the door. The sister handle on the other door looks like it has some kind of mechanism on the inside to perhaps screw into. Is it hollow right where the handle is mounted? That would be very unusual as hollow doors are usually solid in t...

Based on the photos it appears that there is no latch mechanism involved, so there probably isn't another handle on the inside and the screws holding the handle on have probably stripped out. I would expect that the door is solid in the area of the screw holes (vs. hollow, like the rest of the door...
